IT IS A PLEASURE FOR ME TO COME UP HERE TODAY TO DO OUR RECOGNITIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER.

WE HAD A BUSY MONTH. GOING TO START FROM THE BEGINNING AND LET YOU KNOW HOW WE ENDED IT.

IN HONOR OF SUBSTITUTE APPRECIATION DAY WE WERE PROUD TO RECOGNIZE OUR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS AND OUR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT NATURE EVERY SUBSTITUTE AND EVERY TEACHER WERE CELEBRATED IN HONOR OF THIS WILL DAY.

THEY RECEIVED GOODIE BAGS AND CUPCAKES AND TENS OF APPRECIATION FROM STAFF MEMBERS.

WE TRULY APPRECIATE THE INDIVIDUALS THEY SERVE AS INDIVIDUALS AND STUDENTS AT LANCASTER ISD.

AND LANCASTER MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL AND EARLY COLLEGE STUDENTS HAD AN OUT OF THIS WORLD EXPERIENCE ON THE 15TH.

OUR STUDENTS WERE FEATURED DOING THIS EVENT AND WE WERE PROUD OF HOW THEY WERE REPRESENTING LANCASTER ISD IN OUTER SPACE. THE OPPORTUNITY ALLOWED LINKS TO HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS TO ASK NASA ASTRONAUTS THOUGHT-PROVOKING QUESTIONS BID THE COOL THING ABOUT PHYSICS.

IS CURRENTLY THE ASTRONAUTS WERE STATIONED ON THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION IN SPACE.

AS STUDENTS WERE BROADCAST TO THE SPACE STATION LIVE, THE ASTRONAUTS PROVIDED THEIR ANSWERS TO THEIR QUESTIONS AND OTHER STUDENTS AT NORTH TEXAS SCHOOLS.

THIS EVENT ALLOWED STUDENTS TO THINK CRITICALLY AND THINK ABOUT THE HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION THEY RECEIVE EACH DAY IN OUR DISTRICT. WE WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE. ON NOVEMBER 13TH WE HELD OUR ALPHA OMEGA HEALTH FAIR HIGH SCHOOL AND IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS IN A WAY FOR US TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO GIVE COVID-19 VACCINES AND FLU SHOTS.

100 STUDENTS WERE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE COVID-19 VACCINE FOR OUR 5 TO 11-YEAR-OLDS AND ALBERTSONS ADMINISTERED THE COVID VACCINE TO FIRST-TIMERS AND OUR VERY OWN NURSE NICOLE CROWDER RECEIVED THE FIRST DOSES.

WE WERE ON HAND TO PROVIDE FLU SHOT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTED THEM AND ALL VACCINES WERE FREE OF CHARGE.

IN ADDITION COLLEGE SIGN-UP OCCURRED AND STUDENTS AND PARENTS COULD RECEIVE INFORMATION ON VARIOUS COLLEGES. THE MILITARY WAS PRESENT.

THE SCIENCE MACHINE THAT WAS VERY ENTERTAINING IN THE BUILDING CAPTIVATED STUDENTS OF ALL AGES AND GRADE LEVELS.

WITH HIS MAGICAL SCIENCE TRICKS.

IT WAS A GREAT DAY OF LEARNING AND AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO HAVE OUR COMMUNITY VACCINATED. VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION CONTINUES AND THAT'S WHY WE HAVE TO HIGHLIGHT OUR COLOR GUARD. THURSDAY NOVEMBER 11TH DISTRICT LEADERSHIP MEMBERS HAD THE PRIVILEGE AND HONOR TO GIVE OUR VETERANS A SWEET TREAT. OUR VETERANS WERE SURPRISED AT THEIR CAMPUSES WITH MUSIC, FIST BUMPS AND GRATITUDE FOR THE SERVICE THEY HAVE FOR OUR COUNTRY.

HEADER AND RECEIVED CAKE, MOVIE PASSES, A DISTRICT TOTE, GREETING CARD AND CUSTOM LANCASTER ISD PINS.

WE APPRECIATE THE VETERANS FOR THEIR SACRIFICE AND BRAVERY AND WE ARE ALSO THANKFUL THAT THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO SERVE THE STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY OF LANCASTER ISD.

TO SHOW OUR APPRECIATION TO THESE INDIVIDUALS AN HOUR AGO WE HOSTED A VETERANS RECEPTION TO HONOR AND CONTINUE TO HONOR THESE INDIVIDUALS THIS EVENING. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE THEM REPRESENTED THIS EVENING DURING OUR BOARD MEETING.

WE DID MENTION THAT LOGAN CAR WAS SELECTED FOR THE 2021 PHENOM WATCHLIST THE AMERICAN COACHES ASSOCIATION FOR THE THIRD YEAR. [APPLAUSE] IN BASKETBALL, WE HAVE 103 ATHLETES. WHO ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS. IN THE RUNNING TIGERS TONIGHT, THEY ARE A BIG FAMILY AND WE HAVE TAKEN A FEW LUMPS AND BUMPS BUT COACH DOUGLAS ALWAYS SCHEDULES VERY TOUGH IN THE BEGINNING TO BE READY FOR THE PLAYOFFS SEASON.

SO, WE ARE PROUD OF THEM AND THE GIRLS ARE IN HOUSTON TONIGHT PLAYING AGAINST JACK GATES HIGH SCHOOL IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. IF YOU KNOW BASKETBALL, THAT IS NO JOKE. IN OUR SPRING SPORTS, WRESTLING TOTALED 30 ATHLETES, WE HAVE 394 STUDENTS RIGHT NOW IN OUR SPRING SPORTS. SOCCER, THE GIRLS HAVE 29, A TOTAL OF 75, 30 BOYS, 45 FOR THE GIRLS AND SOFTBALL, THEIR START DATE IS JANUARY 14TH AND THEY TOTAL 39 GIRLS AND IN BASEBALL THEIR START DATE IS JANUARY 21ST AND THEY HAVE 30 ATHLETES IN THE PROGRAM RIGHT NOW.

OUR YEAR-ROUND SPORTS TRACK, SWIMMING, POWERLIFTING, TENNIS AND GOLF ARE ALL GEARED UP AND READY TO GO.THE POWERLIFTING TEAM CAN OF FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND SO, THEY ARE READY.

THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS YEAR IS MADE A HUGE PUSH BECAUSE WHAT WE NOTICED IS WITH OUR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WE HAVE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THIRD GRADE AND PARENTS WERE SAYING THAT THEY OPEN AN ACCOUNT AS WELL.

WE NEGOTIATED WITH UNITED WAY TO OFFER THIS SERVICE ALL THE WAY UP TO FIT GRADE AND THAT IS GREAT.

WE ARE CONTINUOUSLY TRACKING SOULS AND EXPANDING THE FINANCIAL LITERACY GROUPS FROM FIRST GRADE TO THIRD GRADE ANTI-SCHOOL. TO DATE WE HAVE NINE SCHOOLS AND ONE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN RICHARDSON AND WE HAVE SIX OF THOSE NINE 80 PERCENT OF OUR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS ARE IN THE PROGRAM AND WE HAVE OVER 1500 STUDENTS WITH THE DOLLARS FOR COLLEGE ACCOUNT WITH 900 OF THOSE STUDENTS FROM OUR PARTICULAR SCHOOL DISTRICT. THIS IS WHERE SOME OF THE FUNDING GOES CURRENTLY RIGHT NOW WE ARE IN YEAR FOUR AND OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE CLOSE TO THREE AND A THOUSAND THIS YEAR AND I THINK WE WILL GET CLOSE TO THAT.

TODAY WE HAVE 414 CAMERAS AND 80 OF THOSE CAMERAS BEING ANALOG. 2016 WE DID A SAFETY AND PURITY UPGRADE WHICH INCLUDED PANELS AND WAS DEPLOYED TO 11 CAMPUSES. IN 2017 WE HAD AN ACTION CONTROL DIVERSION PROJECT AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE ACCESS CONTROL FROM A LEGACY SYSTEM WE ALSO HAD NEW CONSTRUCTION WHERE WE ADDED 64 CONTROLS AND THEN FOR THE NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL WE HAVE 24 OTHER CONTROLS AND 54 MONITOR DOORS.

FROM THE INTERCOM WE HAVE TWO CART READERS AND WE ALSO HAVE A MANAGER TO HAVE A REMOTE CALL TO RELEASE THE DOOR.

I'M NOT GOING TO HIT EACH OF THESE BUT SOME THINGS I WANTED TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION WAS THE NEXT GENERATION WHICH MEANS IT'S A NEW TECHNOLOGY AND PROVIDES US WITH SOME FEATURES WE CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE AND ALSO PROVIDES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND TO OTHER PLATFORMS AND TO INTEGRATE WITH OTHER SOLUTIONS AS WELL. ONE VENDOR PROVIDED US ONE SERVICE BUT NOT THE OTHER.

OR THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO INTEGRATE WITH OUR HELIO'S SOLUTION THAT WE HAVE. IN THE PROCESS WE DID ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS PEERED WE DID ASK FOR THESE SELECTIONS CRITERIA AND AT THE END OF THE OBSERVATION WE DECIDED ON NIGHT SECURITY. WITH THAT BEING SAID WE TALKED TO NIGHT SECURITY ABOUT A TIMELINE OF HOW WE WOULD ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT THIS INTO OUR DISTRICT.

SCHOOL BUSES HAVE A 12 TO 15 YEAR CYCLE AND WE ARE REQUESTING APPROVAL FOR THE TWO SPECIAL EDUCATION BUSES THAT ARE BEYOND REPAIR.

THE RFQ SPECIFIED THAT THEY WOULD USE THE AIA DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SO WILL WE ARE PROPOSING IS TO GET THE CONTRACT INTO TWO PARTS WERE TWO SCOPES ONE, THE FIRST SCOPE IS WHAT I AM REFERRING TO TONIGHT WHICH IS THE CHILLER REPLACEMENT AT LANCASTER HIGH SCHOOL.
