[3. Call Meeting to Order]
[00:00:03]
GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. WE HAVE A CALLED BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 28TH, 2001.
THE MEETING HELD BOARD ROOM AUDITORIUM IN LANCASTER, TEXAS. THIS MEETING HAS BEEN POSTED IN ACCORDANCE, I WILL NOW TAKE ROLL.
AT THIS TIME DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMUNICATIONS?
>> THIS -- I THINK -- THIS IS ACTUALLY A PUBLIC
[6.B. Presentation of FIRST Report (G2) Shonna Pumphrey, Presenter]
HEARING. IF YOU DON'T HAVE COMMUNICATION WE WILL MOVE TO THE ANNUAL REPORT.GOOD EVENING MADAM PRESIDENT, PERERA AND TRUSTEES. TO FLIGHT I'M BRINGING A REPORT. I'M DOING IT ALL.
FINAL RESULTS USUALLY COME OUT THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER. WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY APPEALS.
I DON'T ANTICIPATE THAT THE RATING WILL CHANGE.
IF FOR INSTANCE BY SOME SMALL HAPPENING SOMETHING DOES CHANGE WE WOULD BRING IT BACK TO THE BOARD.
BUT WE ARE PRESENTING THE FIRST RATINGS FOR LINK STAR ISD. THE OBJECT ACTIVE OF THE FINANCIAL INTEGRITY RATING SYSTEM OF TEXAS IS EXPAND THE PUBLIC EDUCATION ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM TO INCLUDE SOME ASPECTS OF FINANCIAL SERVICES AND REPORTING SO THEY ARE ABLE TO BENCHMARK THE VARIOUS SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN REGARDS TO THEIR TRANSPARENCY AND HOW THEY ARE DOING FROM A FINANCIAL STANDPOINT.
EVERY THREE YEARS THE CRITERIA FOR THE RATING SYSTEM IS EVALUATED. AND THIS YEAR THE INDICATORS INCREASED FROM 15 TO 20. THERE WAS A COUPLE OF INDICATORS THAT DROPPED OFF AND SOME WERE ADDED.
THESE RATING ARE APPLICABLE TO THE AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR.
SO I'M PRESENTING TO YOU THE RATING BASED ON THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020.
>> AS PARLIAMENT OF AS PART OF THE FIRST RATE THERE'S DISCLOSURES. A COPY OF THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CURRENT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT.
THAT'S BEEN INCLUDED IN THE BOARD DOCUMENTS AND ALSO SOME HAND OUTS IN THE FORIER IF ANYONE FROM THE PUBLIC PICKED ONE UP. AND SUMMARY SCHEDULE OF ANY REIMBURSEMENT THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OR ANY OF THE BOARD MEMBERS. ANY RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS. AND IF THERE'S ANY GIFTS THAT EXCEEDED 250 OR MORE IN AGGREGATE.
THAT SUMMARY REPORT IS ALSO INCLUDED IN YOUR PACKET.
FROM A SCORING STANDPOINT, AS I MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY THE NUMBER INDEPENDENT -- INDICATORS INCREASED FROM 15 TO 20. SUPERIOR IS 90 TO 100.
YOU CAN READ THE SCALES THEY ARE PRETTY STANDARD.
SO FOR FISCAL YEAR '20 AS MENTIONED TO BOARD PREVIOUSLY DURING THE BOARD WORKSHOP AND THE BUDGET WORKSHOP SINCE THE BUDGET ADOPTION.
WE RECEIVED THE PRELIMINARY RATING IN AUGUST.
FOR FY-'20 WE RECEIVED 88. LAST YEAR WE HAD SUPERIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF 90. FOR THE INDICATORS IN YOUR PACKET YOU WILL SEE NUMBERS 1 THROUGH 10.
THIS IS JUST A SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON COMPARING THE DISTRICTS SCORES FOR 2020 COMPARED 2019.
AND IF YOU SEE NA THAT MEANS THAT PARTICULAR INDICATOR WAS NOT IN EXISTENCE IN THE PRIOR YEAR OR WAS JUST ADDED THIS YEAR. YOU CAN SEE ON INDICATORS 1 THROUGH 10 THE DISTRICT RECEIVED THE MAXIMUM POINTS IN ALL CATEGORIES. ON INDICATORS 11 THROUGH 20, THERE'S THREE AREAS THAT THE DISTRICT -- IS THAT ME?
[00:05:01]
OKAY. THERE WERE THREE AREAS THAT THE DISTRICT DID NOT RECEIVE MAXIMUM POINTS ON AND THEY WERE ON INDICATORS 11, 12, AND 13.AND TWO OF THOSE RELATE TO OUR DEBT THAT WE PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT TO THE BOARD'S ATTENTION.
AND DISCUSSED IN CONJUNCTION WITH MOODY'S RATING AND OUR BUDGET WHEN WE REQUESTED PERMISSION TO START PREPAYING DEBT. YOU WILL SEE ON 11 WE RECEIVED 4 OUT OF 10 POINTS THAT THAT'S IN RELATION IN TERMS OF LONG-TERM LIABILITIES TO ASSETS AND LONG-TERM SOLVENCY. WE RECEIVED FOUR OUT OF THREATEN. ON INDICATOR 12 WAS THE DEBT PER 100 ASSESSED PROPERTY VALUE RATIOS SUFFICIENT TO SUPPORT FUTURE DEBT REPAYMENTS WE RECEIVED 6 OUT OF 10 THERE. AND THEN WE DID 8 OUT OF 10 ON COST RATIO. THAT'S THE DISTRICT OVERHEAD COST COMPARED TO STUDENTS. WE DID INCREASE OUR POINTS IN THAT AREA. BUT THOSE ARE THE THREE AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DISTRICT AND WE ARE ALREADY ADDRESSING THOSE AS WE MENTION PREVIOUSLY WITH LOOKING TO REPAY OUR DEBT. AND GAIN ADDITIONAL POINTS TO GIVE BACK TO OUR SUPERIOR RATINGS.
I WILL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS AT THIS TIME.
>> BOARD, ANY QUESTIONS? >> OKAY.
[6.A. 2020 - 2021 TAPR Annual Report - AIB(LEGAL)-(G1) Patonia Bell, Presenter]
THANK YOU MISS HUMPHREY. AT THIS TIME WE WILL GO BACK TO 2020-2021 ANNUAL REPORT. GOOD EVENING DISTINGUISHED TRUSTEES. THIS EVENING I PRESENT TONIGHT OUR RESULT AS REPORTED BY TEA.AND OUR OUR TILL REPORTING. I WANT START OFF WITH THE VISION. EVERY GRADUATE IS A SUCCESS.
IN LANCASTER ISD OUR MISSION STATEMENT EMPOWERING ALL STUDENT PURPOSE THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION.
THIS SLIDE DENOTES THE DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION.
WE'RE 86% ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED.
AND THEN I WON'T READ ALL THE NUMBERS.
AS YOU CAN SEE ALL OF OUR DEMOGRAPHIC AREAS ARE BROKEN DOWN FOR YOU. BEFORE WE GET INTO OUR TAPER REPORT. I WANT TO JUST EXPLAIN THAT THE TAPER TEXAS ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE REPORT PULLS TOGETHER A WIDE RANGE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF STUDENT IN OUR SCHOOLS AND WITHIN THE DISTRICT.
THIS REFORM IS ALSO SHOWING AGGREGATE INFORMATION ACROSS THE STUDENT GROUPS INCLUDING ETHNICITY AND SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS AND PROVIDES EXTENSIVE INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS STAFF, PROGRAMS IN OUR STUDENT DEMOGRAPHICS. WITH THE 202020-21 TAPER SUMMARY. TEA STATED ALL DISTRICTS AND CAMPUSES ARE LABELED DECLARED STATE OF DISASTER FOR 2021. TEA WILL ISSUE THE SAME RATING FROM 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR LAST ACCOUNTABILITY YEAR WHICH WAS A B. 81 RATING.
WE ALSO EARNED 37 DISTINCTIONS AT THAT TIME AND ONE COVETED DISTRICT POST SECONDARY RATING DISTINCTION. THIS TABLE BASICALLY IS A SIDE BY SIDE SHOWING YOU INFORMATION COMPARING OUR LAST ACCOUNTABILITY YEAR TO 28, 19, 2018, 2019 COMPARED TO 2020 AND 2021. UNDER THE START YOU SEE UNDER THE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT SEGMENT.
IN STAR PERFORMANCE WE EARNED 47 IN 2018 AND 2019 AND THEN WE LOST SOME POINTS FOR 2020-2021 AND EARNED A 30 IN STAR PERFORMANCE. WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AT COLLEGE CAREER MILITARY READINESS YOU WILL SEE THAT WE EARNED A 41 IN 2018-'19 BUT MADE HUGE GAINS IN '20-'21 # AND OFF SET THE LOSSES WE HAD.
OUR GRADUATION RATE WERE ON TARGET FOR BOTH ACCOUNTABILITY YEARS. I WILL REPORT TO YOU THAT BECAUSE OF THE HUGE INCREASE WITH THE COLLEGE CAREER MILITARY READINESS. IT PUT OUT PRETTY MUCH IN THE SAME SPOT WITH STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT BASED ON THE DIFFERENCES THERE. UNDER THE SCHOOL PROGRESS WITH THE RAW COMPONENT. THESE ARE RAW SCORES WE ARE LOOKING AT. FOR EXAMPLE THE 71 IN 2018,
[00:10:02]
2019 IF YOU SCALE THAT, IT'S 81%.THIS YEAR WITH 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR.
SCALI SCALING COMPONENT IS NOT AVAILABLE. WE DON'T HAVE EVERYTHING IN THE DENOMINATOR FOR THIS ACCOUNTABILITY YEAR.
WE'RE NOT ABLE TO USE THE SAME SKILL AND STOOLS BUT I WANTED TO BRING THAT POINT FORWARD.
AGAIN IN OUR SCHOOL PROGRESS PIECE THE GROWTH COMPONENT IS NOT AVAILABLE THIS YEAR. WHERE YOU SEE NA IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS YEAR.
RELATIVE PERFORMANCE WE HAD IN 2018, 2019, A 44.
AND 2020-2021 A 54. CLOSING THE GAPS SEGMENT OF THE DATA WHICH THIS THE DOMAIN THREE OF THE DATA.
BASICALLY YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCES THERE WHERE WE HAD THE GREATEST CHANGE WAS WITH OUR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT STATUS. WE HAD 55% IN 2018-2019 AND THEN WE DRIVE DOWN OR DECREASED TO 5% IN 2020-2021. AGAIN OUR GRADUATION STATUS THERE WE DID WELL. AND I WANT TO POINT OUT A CELEBRATORY FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY IN 20182019 THERE WAS A ZERO FOR THAT.
FOR THAT PARTICULAR COMPONENT.
OF THE CLOSING THE GAPS, HOWEVER FOR 2020-2021 WE EARNED A 100% FOR THAT AREA. WE DID QUITE WELL THERE.
THEN ALSO IN OUR SCHOOL QUALITY STATUS, WE HAD A 71 IN 2018-2019 AND 100% IN 2020-2021.
>>> LAST BUT NOT LEAST ON THIS COMPARATIVE.
STATE WANTED TO US TO SEE THE NUMBER OF STUDENT THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS THAT PARTICIPATED.
IN 2018 AND 2019, OF COURSE WE HAD 100% OF THE STUDENT THAT ANTICIPATE ON STAR. AND 82% OF STUDENT SHOW UP AND TEST WITH US IN 2020-2021.
I WANT TO EXPLAIN BRIEFLY THAT WHAT WENT INTO THE POST SECONDARY DISTINCTION AND HOW THAT WAS EARNED PRIMARILY MEET MEETS AND ABOVE MASTERY LEVEL ACHIEVEMENT IN BOTH READING AND MATH.
WE HAD A NUMBER OF OUR SCHOOLS AND ELEMENTARY MIDDLE AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS TO MAKE THAT ACCOMPLISHMENT.
ADDITIONALLY, THIS STATE ALSO LOOKS AT THE NUMBER STUDENT WHO PARTICIPATE WITH ACT OR SAT.
WE ALSO EARNED A POINT THERE FOR THAT AS WELL.
AND THEN ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT CT COY EL COHERENT SEQUENCE WE EARNED A POINT THERE HUGELY IN PART TO THE WORK THEY ARE DOING WITH THE CTE PROGRAM.
WANT TO MENTION AS WELL IN 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR WE EARNED A TOTAL OF 37 DISTINCTIONS.
I WON'T GO OVER ALL OF THEM. WE EARNED 6 AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. WE EARNED A TOTAL OF FIVE AT THE LANCASTER MIDDLE SCHOOL. TWO GWC, TOTAL OF FIVE BELT LINE ELEMENTARY. TWO HOUSTON ELEMENTARY.
FOUR DISTINCTIONS PLEASANT RUN ELEMENTARY.
TOTAL OF FOUR ROLLING HILLS ELEMENTARY AND FOUR ROSA PARKS AND TOTAL OF FIVE DISTINCTIONS AT WEST MAIN ELEMENTARY. I WANT TO MENTION IN ORDER TO GET A DISTINCTION YOUR SCHOOL HAS TO DO REALLY WELL WITH ATTENDANCE AND SO. AT THAT TIME, THOSE CAMPUSES WERE PULLING IN ON ATTENDANCE LIKE 97% ON ADA OR BETTER. AND THEN ALSO YOU HAVE TO DO REALLY WELL WITH YOUR MEETS LEVEL AND HIGHER PERFORMANCE ON THE MEETS AND MASTERS LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE WAS REALLY DOING WELL AT THOSE CAMPUSES.
AND THEN FINALLY THE STATE COMPARE YOU TO 40 OTHER SIMILAR CAMPUSES SIMILAR CAMPUS TYPES.
AND THEN THE TOP TEN ARE THE TOP QUARTER OF THOSE SCHOOLS EARN THE DISTINCTIONS. THAT'S SOMETHING TO BE
REALLY PROUD OF. >> CAN YOU GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS SCREEN. HOUSTON ELEMENTARY AND -- THEY HAD NONE FOR READING AND MATH.
>> HOUSTON HAD TWO. I WILL YOU BECAUSE I LOOK THAT DATA ALL THE TIME WITH THE DISTINCTIONS.
THEY HAVE A KIND OF A UNIQUE SITUATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LARGE EL POPULATION. SO IN THE STATE WHEN THEY COMPARE THEY LOOK FOR 40 OTHER SIMILAR SCHOOLS BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THEIR STUDENT GROUP THEY ARE KIND OF LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF A UNICORN. THEY ARE REALLY DIFFERENT THE WAY THE DEMOGRAPHICS BREAK DOWN.
IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIND 40 OTHER SCHOOLS WITH THE SAME
[00:15:03]
DEMOGRAPHICS AND SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS.I WANT TO MENTION ON OUR COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS THAT FROM 2018 TO 2019 THE DISTRICT MOVED 33 POINTS AND OUT SCORED THE STATE BY TWO POINTS.
ADDITIONALLY, OUR 2020 GRADUATING COHORT THERE WERE 94% OF OUR SENIORS ACQUIRED CCMR INDICATOR.
WE'RE WORKING HARD TO CONTINUE TO TRAIN AS WE ARE THIS YEAR BY ADDING A NUMBER OF CTE PROGRAMS TO OUR PROGRAMS OF STUDY. AND SO AGAIN I WANT TO KEEP MENTIONING BECAUSE THIS IS NOT JUST BY ACCIDENT.
BUT SHEILA BESKIN HAS BEEN HUGELY WORKING WITH OUR HIGH SCHOOL AS WELL AS OUR NINTH GRID CENTER IN HELPING MAKE THIS AN. SHE'S OUT THERE.
I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE HER A ROUND OF APPLAUSE.
>> ON THE SLIDE THAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT CTE PROGRAMS AND STUDY I WANT TO MENTION THAT THIS YEAR WE'VE BEEN WORKING HARD TO ADD ON SOME NEW PROGRAMS SUCH AS DRAMA, TECHNOLOGY, WE ADDED ON THE ELECTRICAL PROGRAM OF STUDIES AS WELL. WE ARE BRINGING FOURTH CYBERSECURITY AS WELL AND I KNOW A COUPLE OF PEOPLE MIGHT BE EXCITED ABOUT THAT. LIKE TRUSTEE SMITH.
AND I WANT TO MENTION TOO I THINK ONE WARMS DR. PERERA'S HEART WHICH IS THE TEACHING AND LEARNING.
DR. PERERA, I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT TO YOU THAT LAST YEAR WE HAD ONLY NEARLY ABOUT TEN STUDENTS IN OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING PROGRAM. THIS YEAR WE HAVE ABOUT 100.
WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT, TOO.
THIS SLIDE IS JUST BASICALLY -- YES, MA'AM.
>> JUST A QUICK QUESTION. 2021-2022, CAN WE LOOK AT LOSS TO INCLUDE IN THIS PLEASE? I THINK IN THE SOUTHERN SECTOR OUR COLLEGE DON'T PROVIDE THAT. THAT'S A TWO-YEAR DEGREE.
>> ABSOLUTELY. JUDGE NASH REACHED OUT TO US. WE WILL FOLLOW UP WITH HER.
I THINK THAT'S A GREAT PATHWAY TO LOOK AT.
ABSOLUTELY. WE CAN LOOK AT THAT.
>> WE DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR HER.
DALLAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DOWNTOWN IS ALREADY
>> OUR STUDENT PEERS DON'T HAVE THE RESOURCES.
THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO DOWNTOWN TO GET IT.
>> OKAY. >> WE'LL CERTAINLY MISS BESKIN PLEASE PUT THAT ON THE LIST.
WE WILL TAKE ACTION STEP TO LOOK AT THE PROGRAM TO SEE IF IT CAN FIT WITH OUR OTHER PROGRAMS AS WELL.
THANK YOU FOR THAT SUGGESTION.
>>> THESE ARE GRADUATION RATES.
AS YOU CAN SEE WE'RE DOING REALLY SWELL JOB IN MAKING SURE THAT OUR STUDENTS GRADUATE WITH A DIPLOMA.
THIS YEAR WE WERE 99.1 AND THE PREVIOUS YEARS WE WERE AT 100%. I WANT TO MENTION THIS IS A LINK THAT I MADE SURE THAT AVAILABLE TO YOU.
IT'S OUR 2020-2021 BUDGET AND FINANCIAL DATA THAT CONNECTED BACK UP WITH OUR TAPER.
IF YOU CLICK ON A LINK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REVIEW THAT INFORMATION AT THIS TIME. WE ARE UNDERGOING FINANCIAL AUDIT AND SO MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THIS FINANCIAL PIECE IS CONNECTED WITH THE TABLE WILL BE COMING FORWARD LATER AT ANOTHER TIME.
THEN ALSO I WANTED TO PROVIDE LINKS AS WELL FOR YOU ALL TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK AND ACCESS THIS REPORTING AND THIS INFORMATION.
AT ANOTHER TIME AS YOU NEED. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS AT
>> I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUICK ONES.
FIRST OFF THE PREVIOUS SLIDE WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2019 AND 2021.
[INAUDIBLE] THAT MAY BE WHAT WAS FINGERPRINTED EARLIER. THE ONE ON THE SLIDE IS ACTUALLY CORRECTED. MY BAD.
>> NOT A PROBLEM. WE DID CATCH THAT, YES, SIR.
>> I WANTED TO SAY TOO WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE GRADUATION RATES JUST SO YOU KNOW IT'S ONE YEAR IN ARREARS.
2020-2021, THOSE ARE ACTUALLY OUR GRADUATES FROM THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL YEAR. YES.
>> ANOTHER ITEM IF YOU GO BACK UP TWO MORE SLIDE BEFORE THAT. WE HAVE CRITERIAS --
THIS MAY BE A 2 OR THREE-PAGER THAT SHOWS ALL THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO BECOME THAT SCHOOL.
ONE OF THE NUMBER ONE THINGS MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD
[00:20:04]
ATTENDANCE. DECENT ATTENDANCE -- TO THE TOP TO REACH THE TOP OF A QUANTILE LIST.[INAUDIBLE] >> THE ONE YOU ARE LOOKING AT MAY BE A LITTLE BIT OFF. LOOK AT THE NEW ONE WE GOT
>> YES, SIR. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT EYE
AND ATTENTION. >> I ALSO WANT TO SAY [INAUDIBLE] THAT'S A TRUE POINT TOO DR. PERERA. THANK YOU.
>> MISS MORRIS, DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION?
>> WE DON'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO HOUSTON.
YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION. BUT WHEN TRUSTY SMITH BROUGHT THAT CONCERN UP HOUSTON IT'S NOT SO MUCH OF ATTENDANCE THAT IS ISSUE. IT'S THE LANGUAGE.
>> YES, MA'AM. AND SO WITH THAT PARTICULAR GROUP BECAUSE THE DEMOGRAPHICS ARE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT. WHEN THEY LOOK IN THE STATE TO COMPARE THAT SCHOOL TO 40 OTHER VERY SIMILAR SCHOOLS WITH THE SAME SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND AS WELL AS THE SAME SUBPOPULATION IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR THE STATE TO DO THAT. THERE'S ACTUALLY A REPORT ON TEA SITE THAT SHOWS THE 40 SCHOOLS THAT SCHOOL IS COMPARED TO. I THINK THAT WILL HELP PAINT THE PICTURE BETTER. WE CAN STILL DEFINITELY WORK TOWARDS EARNING MORE DISTINCTIONS AT EVERY CAMPUS. THERE'S ALWAYS THAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE SCHOOLS CHANGE.
THOSE 40 COMPARATIVE CHANGE EVERY YEAR.
>> I HAVE A QUESTION. YOUR ACCOUNTABILITY SUMMARY SLIDE. UNDER ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT STATUS, WE WENT FROM A 55 TO A 50.
CAN YOU SPEAK TO HOW YOU PLAN TO CLOSE THE GAP.
>> I WANTED TO ACTUALLY INVITE THEM TO THE PODIUM WITH US. HE'S GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT HIS TRANSFORMATIVE ACHIEVEMENT HE'S BRINGING TO OUR DISTRICT. I THINK HE CAN PAINT A PICTURE ON WHAT WE WILL DO WITH THAT PROGRAM.
>> DR. JACKSON. GREETING MADAM CHAIR.
WE WILL ACTUALLY BE IMPLEMENTING A SET OF INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES. THERE'S FOUR ACROSS THE DISTRICT THAT IS ACTUALLY BEEN PROVEN TO BE VERY, VERY SUCCESSFUL IN CLOSING THE GAP.
WE ACTUALLY RECENTLY PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSION WITH OUR CONTENT COORDINATORS OR INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER AS WELL AS THE CHIEF EDUCATION OFFICERS AND LATER ON I WILL BE PROVIDING YOU WITH A POWERPOINT IN REGARDS TO HOW CONFIDENCE THEY ARE IN REGARDS TO MOVING FORWARD. ONE OF THE THINGS WE WILL DO IS AND WE'VE DONE LAST WEEKS ACTUALLY SHOW OUR TEACHERS BEGINNING THE PROCESS OF SHOWING OUR DISTRICT LEADERS AND OUR TEACHERS HOW TO CLOSE THAT GAP.
WHILE PROVIDING ON LEVEL GRADE LEVEL INSTRUCTION AT THAT TIME. THAT'S THE KEY TO THAT.
FOR H HOUSE BILL-4545 WE HAVE ADDITIONAL THINGS WE'RE PUTTING IN PLACE. I WILL DESCRIBE THOSE TO YOU
IN THE LATER SLIDE. >> THANK YOU SO MUCH.
>> YOU'RE WELCOME. THANK YOU, DR. JACKSON.
>> I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS.
>> THIS IS A PUBLIC HEARING. ANYONE FROM THE AUDIENCE OR COMMUNITY WOULD ANYONE LIKE TO ASK QUESTIONS OR HAVE COMMENTS? THERE'S NO QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC. THE NEXT THING WOULD BE TO ADJOURN THE PUBLIC HEARING. AND WE'LL GO AHEAD -- IS THERE A MOTION TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING.
>> HAVE A MOTION AND A SECOND.
AT THIS TIME I WILL CALL FOR THE VOTE.
