THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU.

>> SECOND HAMILTON I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

[00:15:04]

AND TO KICK US OFF IS MR. MATTHEWS. WE WANT TO MAKE A PRESENTATION

ON THE JD HALL LEARNING CENTER. >> THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING MS. PARRERA AND I WANT TO GIVE YOU AN OVERVIEW OF OUR PROGRAMS AND WHAT IS HAPPENING ON CAMPUS.

SO, OF COURSE, WE KNOW THAT ANY GOOD SCHOOL HAVE MANY PEOPLE THAT WORK TOGETHER.

AND ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE AN ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL THESE TWO PEOPLE THAT ARE ON THE SCREEN ARE VERY VALUABLE AND THEY HELP TO MAKE SURE THAT CAMPUS RUNS SMOOTHLY SEW MY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AND MS. ROBBIE RICE WORK WITH ME TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING ON THE CAMPUS RUN SMOOTH AND I'M VERY APPRECIATIVE TO THEM, IN ADDITION TO ALL OF THE STAFF MEMBERS THAT ARE THERE AS WELL. HERE AT JD HALL LEARNING CENTER ROCKY CHRIS WE HAVE THREE PROGRAMS THAT ARE THERE. THEY ARE VERY DISTINCTIVE AND DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. SO WE HAVE OUR ACADEMIC ACADEMY WHICH IS A CREDIT RECOVERY PROGRAM.

WE ALSO HAVE OUR HALL SUCCESS LEARNING ACADEMY WHICH IS THE K5 REMOTE LEARNING PATHWAY.

WE ALSO HAVE THE DAP OR THE DISCIPLINARY ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM SO TONIGHT I'M GOING TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME HIGHLIGHTS FROM EACH OF THOSE PROGRAMS TO LET YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO AND WHAT IS HAPPENING. AND WE ARE DOING THIS FOR OUR STUDENTS IN THE RECOVERY PROGRAM. THEY ARE ABLE TO RECEIVE CREDITS AND ACCELERATE AS WELL AS ACCOMPLISH ON TIME. WE ALSO HAVE A SMALL SAFE ORDERLY ENVIRONMENT SO STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO WORK IN SMALLER ENVIRONMENTS. WE ITCH LAMENTED MOVE THIS WORLD WHICH IS A INITIATIVE ON A DAILY BASIS. AS MANY OF YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED WE'VE HOSTED OUR RIGHT OF PASSAGE AND CONGRATULATIONS FOR COMING OUT.

WE HOPE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND THAT AS WELL. WE DO BOAST A 100% GRADUATION RATE FOR ANY OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM THE ENTIRE YEAR. THEY DO RECOVER THOSE CREDITS AND GRADUATE. MOST RECENTLY WE RECEIVE A 2500 STATE GRANT TO PROMOTE AN EMOTIONAL AND LEARNING CURRICULUM FOR OUR SECONDARY STUDENTS THESE ARE JUST TWO PICTURES TO CELEBRATE ONE OF OUR STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE COLLEGE FAIR.

THIS IS WHEN THE STATE CAME OUT TO GIVE US THE GRANT WE RECEIVED FOR OUR SEL CURRICULUM.

NOW OUR ROMAN DEMOGRAPHICS. THE ROMAN REFLECTS A PLAN FOR DEP ENROLLMENT AND OUR JP, OUR JUVENILE PROGRAM WHICH WE HAVE A COHORT IN. AS YOU SEE THERE WERE 808 STUDENTS AND IN 2019 THAT NUMBER INCREASED IN 239. IN 2019 AND '20 WE BEGAN TO IMPLEMENT MANY OF OUR PROGRAMS YOU'LL HEAR ABOUT MOMENTARILY. THEN THAT NUMBER BEGAN TO DECREASE. THEN, OF COURSE, WE WERE HIT TO COVID.

THEN THAT NUMBER WAS DECREASED TO 25. THIS YEAR WE CURRENTLY HAVE AN ENROLLMENT OF 21 STUDENTS IN OUR DAP. WE HAVE ZERO STUDENTS THAT WE SENT TO JEPP AND THEY ARE ALL CONSIDERED AS THE STATE SAYS "AT RISK" AND WE LIKE TO THINK OF AS PROMISE. WE KNOW THOSE STUDENTS HAVE PROMISE AND POSSIBILITIES AND WE'LL MAKE SURE THAT THEY WORK AND ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE AND SUCCEED.

OUR SEL PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT. WE ARE FOCUSED ON SEL BECAUSE WE KNOW THROUGH THE PANDEMIC, STUDENTS REALLY NEED THOSE SERVICES.

AND SO MANY OF THEM HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA. AND SO WE ARE REALLY IMPLEMENTING SEVERAL PROGRAMS SO WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE WHAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

WE USE WHAT IS CALLED MTSS WHICH IS KNOWN AS A MULTI-TIERED SYSTEM AS WE ADDED SEL SUPPORTS.

THROUGHOUT THE STATE IF YOU HEAR "MTSS" STANDS FOR MULTI SUPPORTS.

SO ON A DAILY BASIS, OUR STUDENTS RECEIVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

THEY ALSO RECEIVE ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY STUDENTS THEY USE SECOND-STEP.

OUR HIGH SCHOOLERS AND MIDDLE SCHOOLERS USE SECOND-STEP AND THEY ALSO USE RESILIENCY.

[00:20:05]

WE MAKE SURE IF THEY HAVE HAD SETBACKS WE TEACH THEM HOW TO BE RESILIENT AND HOW TO BE ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK AND CONTINUE AND HOW TO MOVE FORWARD AND NOT LET ANY CHALLENGES OR ISSUES IF THEY STRUGGLE TO HOLD THEM BACK. THEY ALSO PARTICIPATE IN LIFE SKILLS.

SO THESE ARE SKILLS THAT THEY LEARN TO USE IN LIFE AND NOT JUST IN SCHOOL.

AND WE USE THIS IN THIS WORLD SO THEY UNDERSTAND THEIR EMOTIONS AN HOW TO USE EMOTIONS AND HOW TO RESPOND APPROPRIATELY. WE USE RESTORATIVE DISCIPLINE.

WHEN WE ARE USING RESTORATIVE DISCIPLINE WE HAVE COMMUNITY CIRCLES AND CHECKING-IN WHICH ALLOWS STUDENTS TO SPEAK AND BE HEARD AND THAT THEY ARE RECOGNIZED AND THAT THEY ARE CONNECTED WITH THE ADULTS IN THE BUILDING. ADDITIONALLY WE DO THIS THROUGH HAVING "STUDENT OF THE WEEK" AND WE RECOGNIZE THEM THROUGH MOTIVATIONAL MUSIC AND WORDS OF WISDOM. SO WE POUR INTO THEM ON DAILY BASIS SOX OUR AAA STUDENTS ARE IN A PROGRAM WHERE THEY WILL CONSIDER TO BE STUDENT AMBASSADORS, AND THEY WILL LEARN HOW TO BE LEADERS AND WHEN SOMEONE COMES TO THE BUILDING, TO BE ABLE TO WALK THEM AROUND AND SPEAK AND TO BE ABLE STONED UP AND BE THE LEADER THAT THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE.

SO LASTLY, ONE OF THE THINGS I WANT TO MENTION IS WE DO FOCUS ON COLLEGE, CAREER, AND MILITARY READINESS. AND WAYS THAT WE DO THAT WE HAVE THE APEX ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM. SO OUR STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN GAINING THEIR CREDITS SO THAT THEY CAN GRADUATE AND POTENTIALLY GO ONTO COLLEGE. WE HAVE COLLEGE IN CAREER PARTNERSHIPS. WE CURRENTLY ARE IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DALLAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WHERE THEY ARE OFFERING STUDENTS OPPORTUNITIES STRAIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL TO WORK FOR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT IN ADDITION TO WORKING WITH STATE FARM WHO GRANTED US A GRANT. THEY'RE GOING TO BE OFFERING US OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO WORK IN THEIR OFFICE DURING THE SUMMER. WE VISIT NAVARRO COLLEGE AND DALLAS COLLEGE. WE MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE PREPARED FOR COLLEGE.

SO WE DO SAT PREPS ON A DAILY BASIS AS WELL AS STAR GRAPHS SO THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SUCCESSFUL. WE ALSO HAVE MILITARY RECRUITERS THAT COME OUT TWICE A YEAR. THEY PROVIDE ANY STUDENT INTERESTED WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THE AZBET TEST. THEN OUR STUDENTS ALSO ATTENDS COLLEGE FAIRS AND COLLEGE VISITS. THEY WILL BE GOING TO BARREL COLLEGE AND DALLAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE AS WELL AS CEDAR VALLEY WHICH IS CLOSE TO US. AND JUST TO KIND OF SUM UP, THERE WERE HIGHER NUMBERS OF DEVELOPMENTS WHERE THEY ARE BEING TRAINED IN THE JED LEARNING HALLWAY AND THEY HAVE ASSESSMENTS AND WE WE ARE CONTINUING TO INCREASE OUR NUMBER OF AAA GRADUATES. WE LOOK AT DISCIPLINE AND WE DO THAT FOR ACADEMICS AND THEN OUR STUDENTS ARE GIVEN THAT BEHAVIOR AND THEY PRACTICE THAT SO WHEN THEY RETURN TO THE CATCHOUS THEY MAKE BETTER CHOICES. SO LOOKING AHEAD WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE FUTURE. WE WILL BE WORKING WITH DR. BARKER TO IMPLEMENT A PROGRAM CHANGE FOR OUR AAA PROGRAM SO THAT WE CAN INCREASE ENROLLMENT AND HAVE ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR JOBS AND INTERNSHIPS FOR OUR STUDENTS. SO WE'LL WORK WITH DR. BARKER ON WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING A TEA-DESIGNATED TRAUMA-INFORMED CAMPUS. SO WE'LL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH TEA ON THAT SO WE'RE ABLE TOW PROVIDE SERVICES FOR FAMILIES AND THE STUDENTS AND WE WILL WORK WITH THEM THROUGH A TRAUMA-INFORMED LENS. OUR SUCCESS REMOTE LEARNING ACADEMY IS IN A PROCESS OF BEING ABLE TO BE SCALED DISTRICT-WIDE. SO WE'RE FINALIZING AND FINE-TUNING ALL OF THE PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES. AND WE WILL BE OFFERING INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AND SEL PROGRAMS. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT BEING SUCH AS: ANIMAL THERAPY DOGS, YOGA, DRONE-BUILDING, PIANO KEYBOARDING, CLUBS AND WE WANT TO DO ARTS AND LETTERS NIGHTS AND HAVE STUDENT LEARNING PROJECTS. AND SO, LASTLY, ONE OF THE THINGS WE ARE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT EVERY STUDENT THAT COMES TO JD HALL THEY ARE PUBLISHED AUTHORS. SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND I WILL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS.

ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU.

[00:25:22]

>> MS. HAMILTON, AND THE BOARD JUST LIKE DR. MATTHEWS I'M EXCITED ABOUT THIS TEAM I'M ABLE TO SHARE AN OFFICE WITH. THESE PEOPLE MAKE OUR BUILDING GO.

IF YOU EVER CALL OUR BUILDING OR NEED ANYTHING MY TWO OFFICE MATES AND MR. THORNHILL ON THE TEAM YOU HAVE MS. VERONICA TRAILLOR, OUR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT.

SO AT EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL WHAT WE ARE KNOWN FOR WE OFFER KIDS A DIPLOMA AFTER THEY SPEND FOUR TIMES WITH US. OUR STUDENTS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE AN ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE AN ASSOCIATE'S OF ART OR A PATHWAY WITH DIGITAL ARTS AND DESIGN.

AND SOME POINTS FOR OUR SCHOOL IS, NUMBER ONE, WHEN YOU THINK OF EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL I CAN SAY THE COMMUNITY AND PERCEPTION IS THING A MAGNET SCHOOL.

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR POINT OF PRIDE IS TO SERVE OUR AT-RISK OR OUR AT PROMISED STUDENTS. AND OUR GOAL IS TO HELP THOSE AT-RISK STUDENTS BECAUSE AT-RISK STUDENTS TYPICALLY DO TO THE TAKE DUAL CREDIT COURSES. WE ARE ABLE TO GIVE THEM AN ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE UP TO 60 HOURS AND WE MAKE SURE AT THE END OF THE YEAR WE TARGET THOSE STUDENTS. WHEN YOU SEE THE ENROLLMENT-YOU SEE THE JOB THAT THEY WITH DONE IN PROVIDING THAT TO OUR COMMUNITY. ALSO ANOTHER POINT OF PRIDE FOR US IS OUR ACADEMIC SUPPORT THAT WE PROVIDE OUR STUDENTS. WE JUST DON'T PUT IN COLLEGE CLASSES AND SEND THEM ON OUR OWN. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE PREPARED AND THAT THEIR EXPERIENCE IS WONDERFUL FOR US SO WE GO TO THE UNIVERSITY WITH ALL OF THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES THAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL. ANOTHER POINT OF PRIDE IS AS WE KIND OF STATED EARLIER AT EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL WE ACTUALLY HAVE 10 STUDENTS WHO ARE RECOGNIZED FOR BEING IN THE TOP 10% OF SCORING ON THE PSAT. OF COURSE, WE HAD HIS ELIZABETH BEING RECOGNIZED FOR THAT 10% IN THE TOP AND WE WILL BE BACK IN FEBRUARY CELEBRATING HER. I WANT TO ADD THAT SHE SCORED 34 ON HER ACT.

SHE IS A BIG DOER.

ELIZABETH, PROCEDURE VERY PROUD OF YOU. WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU IN OUR PROGRAM. YOU DO SUCH A GREAT JOB AND WE'RE PROUD OF YOU.

ALL RIGHT. SO HERE WE HAVE PICTURES FROM OUR FIRST GRADUATION.

THIS IS OUR INAUGURAL CLASS. AND THIS CLASS MADE LANCASTER PROUD.

THEY DID A PHENOMENAL JOB FOR OUR DISTRICT. OF THIS CLASS 50 OF OUR 56 SENIORS HAD AT LEAST 30 COLLEGE CREDIT SOURS. 50 OF THE 56 GRADUATED WITH AN ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE. 85% OF OUR AVERAGE STUDENTS OF THIS CLASS GLADIATED WITH AN ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE. THIS FIRST GROUP OF -- THIS FIRST GROUP DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB OF SETTING THE TONE OF WHAT EARLY COLLEGE CAN BE. IF YOU JUST PUT YOUR MIND DO IT AND CAN YOU GET THAT CONFIDENCE WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THIS GROUP.

THEY SET THE TONE. THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB. THANK YOU FOR DR. MORRIS AND THE DOCTOR FOR COMING OUT TO OUR CELEBRATION. THEY CAN TELL YOU THE KIDS WERE VERY EXCITED WITH THIS GRADUATION. THEY DRESSED UP NICE.

WE WERE VERY PROUD OF THIS GROUP AND HOW THEY PREPARED FOR COLLEGE, AND HOW THEY SET THE TONE FOR YEARS TO COME. OKAY. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE DATA IN EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL. LIKE FOR US ACROSS THE DISTRICT WE'VE PRESENTED MULTIPLE TIMES. OVER THE LAST YEARS WE'VE SEEN A SLIGHT DECREASE IN OUR DATA.

FOR US AND IN COLLEGE EVERY YEAR WE'VE HAD 100% OF OUR APPROACHES.

BUT FOR US, WE'VE FOCUSED ON THAT MASTERY FOCUS. AND "MEET" MEANS STUDENTS NEED A LITTLE BIT OF STUDENTS. AND "MASTERY" MEANS THAT STUDENTS ARE READY FOR THE NEXT GRADE LEVEL. SO OUR FOCUS EVERY YEAR IS TO FOCUS ON THE MEETS AND MASTERY LEVEL. AND WE DID SEE A SLIGHT DECREASE IN OUR ALGEBRA ONE.

WE HAD IT AT MEETS FOR THE STANDARD. FOR BIOLOGY WE HAD 72% OF OUR STUDENTS PERFORMING AT THE GRADE-LEVEL STANDARD. FOR ENGLISH ONE 83% OF OUR STUDENTS AT MEETS OR ON GRADE LEVEL WITH 11% MASTERY. FOR OUR ENGLISH II WE HAD 87% ON OUR GRADE LEVEL OR MEETS LEVEL AND FOR U.S. HISTORY WE HAD 86% ON TRADE LEVEL AND 40%

[00:30:02]

MASTERING THE CONTENT. IT IS DEFINITELY OUR GOAL TO IMPROVE THAT THIS YEAR.

WE HAVE PHENOMENAL TEACHERS WHO ARE UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. WITH HE KNOW WE ARE GOING TO GET BACK TO WHERE WE WERE. WE'RE GOING TO INCREASE TOTALS OF OUR MEETS AND MASTERS NEXT YEAR WHEN WE PRESENT AT THE BOARD MEETING. ALL RIGHT.

OUR ENROLLMENT AND DEMOGRAPHICS -- THIS IS SOMETHING WE'RE VERY PROUD OF.

YOU CAN ALSO SEE A TREND, JUST LIKE DR. MATTHEWS TALKED ABOUT. AS DISCUSSED EARLIER THIS PROGRAM IS FOR OUR STUDENTS TO RECEIVE A COLLEGE DEGREE FREE OF CHARGE, BOOKS, EVERYTHING IS PAID FOR. SO OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE EVERY ONE OF OUR STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE THIS ACCESS TO COLLEGE AND RECEIVE THEIR ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE.

OUR FIRST TWO YEARS WE WERE ONLY ABLE TO OBTAIN 100 STUDENTS INTO THE PROGRAM; THEREFORE, WE WENT INTO THE COMMUNITY. WE HELD COMMUNITY MEETINGS, WE SENT OUT SURVEYS.

WE TOOK THAT FEEDBACK AND WE CHANGED OUR APPROACH AND WE CHANGED SOME OF THE THINGS WE DO IN OUR PROGRAM TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS. BECAUSE WE -- WE LISTENED AND YOU CAN SEE IN 2019 AND 2020 WE WERE ABLE TO DOUBLE OUR ENROLLMENT FROM 200 TO 204 AND YOU CAN SEE THAT FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY. THEN WE CARRIED YOU CAN SEE THAT MOMENTUM FROM '20 AND 2021 AND WE TOOK OUR ENROLLMENT FROM 20 TO 319.

OF THOSE 120 STUDENTS 63 OF THOSE STUDENTS ARE AT-PROMISE STUDENTS.

THOSE ARE THE ONES WHO WERE A LITTLE UP TIM DATED OF THE PROGRAM AND DIDN'T THINK -- INTIMIDATED OF THE PROGRAM AND DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO IT BECAUSE IT WAS A MAGNET PROGRAM. AND BECAUSE OF OUR COMMUNITY WE ARE GETTING THEM TO DO IT NOW. WE ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT CLASS THAT JOINED US.

CURRENTLY WE HAVE 309 STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM. LIKE MANY SCHOOLS WE DID LOSE SOME STUDENTS DUE TO MOBILE. WE WERE STILL ABLE TO GAIN 86 INCOMING FRESHMEN THIS SCHOOL YEAR. WE WEREN'T ABLE TO -- WE HAD 100 OR MORE BUT WE WEREN'T -- WE WEREN'T ABLE TO GO INTO SCHOOLS AND PROMOTE COVID AND ALL ALL OF THE SCHOOLS AND THINGS WE HAD.

WE WERE EXCITED ABOUT 86. WE WERE HAPPY TO GAIN ABOUT 10 ON AND HOPEFULLY, BE 375 NEXT YEAR. CAREER COLLEGE AND MILITARY READINESS -- SO, TO OUR STUDENTS, EVERY STUDENT IN COLLEGE TAKE THE TSI WHICH IS THE TEXAS SUCCESS INITIATIVE ASSESSMENT. WHAT THIS TEST PROVIDES FOR THE -- FOR THE STUDENTS IS -- IT PROVIDES FOR THE COLLEGE AND LETS THEM KNOW THAT STUDENTS ARE READY FOR COLLEGE CLASSES.

OUR FIRST CLASS YOU CAN SEE THEY DID A PHENOMENAL JOB. THEY ARE OUR CURRENT SENIORS.

THEY HAVE 100% AT THE STANDARD FOR READING AND WRITING AND 95% FOR THE MATH.

FOR OUR CLASS OF 2023 WE HAVE 93 FOR READING AND 94 FOR WRITING.

AND THE MATH SEEMS LOW. OUR STUDENTS WERE NOT ABLE TO TAKE AT ASSESSMENT.

THEY HAD TWO OPPORTUNITIES IN APRIL AND JUNE TO TAKE THAT ASSESSMENT.

AND FOR THE ATTEST HER WE FULLY INTEND TO BE AT THE STANDARD AT THE JUNIOR CLASS.

AND SO JANUARY OF 2021, THE STATE HAS CHANGED THE TEST. THEY'VE MADE SOME UPGRADES.

NOW IT IS THE TSI-A-II. SO EVERY CLASS COMING FORWARD WILL HAVE TO TAKE TSI-A-II.

AND THE FIRST CLASS WAS THE FIRST TO TAKE THE ASSESSMENT. THEY SCORED AT 73% AND THOSE NUMBERS SEEM LOW. THOSE STUDENTS DIDN'T HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THE TEST BECAUSE OF COVID. THEY ALSO WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TWICE IN APRIL AND JUNE. WE EXPECT THOSE NUMBERS TO RISE SIGNIFICANTLY AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER IN JANUARY AS WELL. AS FAR AS OUR SAT SCORE. THIS IS SOMETHING WE ARE VERY PROUD OF AND THE SAT IS OUR COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM. OUR CAMPUS AVERAGE IS A 20.

THE NATIONAL AVERAGE IS A 20.1. WE'RE RIGHT THERE WITH THE NATIONAL AVERAGE THAT. IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE VERY, VERY PROUD OF ON OUR CAMPUS.

SCHOOL. YOU CAN TAKE BE ASSOCIATE'S OR IN APPLIED SCIENCE.

AND WE CURRENTLY OFFER TWO DEGREES -- ASSOCIATE'S OF ART AND ASSOCIATE'S OF SCIENCE.

WE HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED OUR ENROLLMENT BY 309 STUDENTS AND WE INCREASED STUDENTS ONTO CAMPUS. AND WE HAVE INCREASED STAFF. WE WENT FROM THREE TO 11.

WHAT WE'RE VERY PROUD OF EIGHT OF OUR 11 STAFF MEMBERS ARE CREDENTIALED.

[00:35:05]

WE HAVE A STAFF MEMBER IN EACH ONE OF OUR AREAS. AND THAT IS ONE OF US TO HAVE.

WE'RE VERY PROUD OF OUR STAFF THAT WE HAVE ASSEMBLED IN OUR DISTRICT.

IT DEFINITELY HELPS OUR STUDENTS OF HAVING THOSE CORE TEACHERS.

WE ARE WORKING VERY HARD AND WE WILL SEE AN INCREASE. WE'RE LOOKING TO INCREASE OUR PERFORMANCE ON THE ACT OR COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMS AND WE ARE PROUD OF THE AVERAGE BUT WE KNOW WE CAN DO MORE. AND WE WANT TO BUILD THE PROGRAM AT THE LOWER GRADE LEVELS TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAMS FOR THE ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS.

AND AS THEY COME UP TO OUR SCHOOLS I WANT THEM TO LOOK AT THE DEGREE BEFORE THEY GET TO HIGH SCHOOL. AND WE WANT THEM TO GO THERE AND RECRUIT.

YOU CAN GET EARLY COLLEGE. THAT IS MORE MONEY FOR SAVING THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE FUTURE. SO OUR GOAL IS TO GET THAT IN THE ELEMENTARY AND BUILD ON THE.

>> DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION? >> I DON'T HAVE A QUESTION. I HAVE A COMMENT.

APPRECIATE THE SCHOOL AND THE SCORES AND GETTING YOU TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.

AND CONTINUING TO (INAUDIBLE) AND I WANT TO THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU.

WRAP UP BY STATING I THINK THAT DR. MATTHEWS AS WELL AS MR. THORNHILL ARE WORKING FOR ENSURING THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE GETTING WHAT THEY NEED. THEY BOTH DID NOT SHARE BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT WE'RE ALSO TRYING TO FORM A PARTNERSHIP WITH PAUL QUINN THAT WOULD HELP WITH SOME OF OUR PROGRAMS THERE AS WELL. SO WE ARE IN THE MIX OF THAT.

I KNOW DR. BARKER AND OURSELF, I THINK WE HAVE A MEETING MEETING COMING UP ON THURSDAY

AGAIN WITH THE DOCTOR SO I WANT TO SHARE THAT. >> OKAY.

THANK YOU DR. PARRERA. OKAY. AT THIS TIME ON THE AGENDA IT IS TIME FOR THE BOARD TO GO INTO A CLOSED SESSION. I'M SORRY.

[9. Informational Items]

I'M OVERSTEPPING. WITH HE HAVE INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS.

DR. PARRERA? >> YES. >> THANK YOU.

AND I WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE NOW A PARTNERSHIP. >>> THANK YOU, MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS AND SUPERINTENDENT PARRERA, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK SO YOU MUCH FOR THIS OPPORTUNITIES. MY NAME IS MS. STEVENS. I'M FROM VARSITY BRANDS.

I HAVE NICK MARTINEZ WHO IS GOING TO BE OUR MODEL. HE'S IN THE BACK.

SO VARSITY BRANDS JUST AN OVERVIEW VARSITY BRANDS IS THE PARENT COMPANY FOR BSN SPORTS, AND HERBST JONES AND VIP BRANDING. WE HAVE BRANDING COMPANIES.

SO JUST TO GIVE YOU A QUICK OVERVIEW, I HAVE A LITTLE VIDEO FOR US TO WATCH.

[00:40:34]

COMPANY AND WHAT WE DO. WE DECIDED, SEVERAL YEARS AGO, WHEN WE BECAME VARSITY BRANDS AND BECAME OUR BUSINESS UNITS THAT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO GIVE BACK TO SCHOOLS.

SO WE KNOW THAT SCHOOLS HAVE TO BUY THINGS. SO YOU HAVE TO BUY GRAD RINGS, HAVE YOU TO BUY CAPS AND GOWNS, HAVE YOU TO BUY ATHLETIC UNIFORMS, CHEER UNIFORMS, BAND UNIFORMS, EVERYTHING ACROSS THE BOARD. SO OUR IDEA WAS, WHEN WE PARTNERED WITH A SCHOOL OR A DISTRICT, WE NEED TO GIVE BACK. SO, IN TALKING WITH A GROUP OF THE PRINCIPALS AND DR. BIRX AND SOME OF HER STAFF EARLIER, WE TALKED -- THE PRINCIPALS AND D R. PERERA AND THERE YOU GO. PUTTING THAT INTO A BRAND LOCKER AND ENHANCING ON THE TIGER THAT YOU HAVE. AND I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DIFFERENT TIGERS.

WE HELP WITH THAT. WE POWER OUR OWN BRANDING COMPANY.

WE NOT ONLY CREATE MASCOTS, BUT WE IMPROVE WHAT YOU HAVE BY VICARRING THE ART FILES AND PUTTING THAT IN A BRAND LOCKER IT IS PASSWORD-PROTECTED AND ART FILES, IT ALLOWS YOU GUYS THE ABILITY TO GET WHAT YOU NEED, SO NO MORE HUNTING FOR A FILE; RIGHT? IT IS RIGHT AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. IT HAS YOUR COLORS SO YOU HAVE YOUR COLORS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.

YOU ALSO HAVE A BRAND GUIDE THAT HELPS YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THAT.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DISCUSSED HAVE YOU AN AWESOME TIGER.

SOMETIMES THAT IS A LITTLE SCARY FOR THE MEANTARY KIDS. AND I WANTED TO SHOW YOU AN EXAMPLE. -- IT IS A LITTLE SCARY FOR THE ELEMENTARY SCUDS AND I WANTED TO SHOW YOU AN EXAMPLE. SO IT IS A LITTLE SCARY FOR THE ELEMENTARY BE KIDS AND THEN WE CREATED THIS LITTLE GUY FOR THEM. AND THE KIDS ARE NOW NOT SCARED. THEY LIKE BEING A LITTLE WOLF, INSTEAD OF A FEROCIOUS WOLF.

SO JUST A LILIED WE TOSSED AROUND. AND ALSO -- YOU CAN SEE HERE THAT WE DO PRODUCTS, SO ALL TYPES OF BRANDING PRODUCTS. AS YOU CAN SEE HERE -- THE POPUP TENTS, RUGS, TABLE COVERS, OF WALL MURALS, WINDOW PURSES, ET CETERA.

WE ALL KNOW IN A THESE THINGS IMPROVE SCHOOL SPIRIT. AND WHAT YOU GUYS HEARD HERE TODAY WHICH IS RIGHT DOWN OUR ALLEY, WHICH IS WHAT WE DO. ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT YOU PUT OUT IS VERY, VERY IMPRESSIVE. SUPER ENTERTAINING THE JOB THAT YOU HAVE DONE REQUEST THE RECOGNITION. THIS IS THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD AT A BOARD MEETING, TO BE HONEST. AND WE KNOW THAT DISTRICTS MATTER. THAT IS OBVIOUS TONIGHT. YOU GUYS WERE TRYING TO MAKE THAT POINT. YOU KNOW IT IS GOOD TO BE INVOLVED.

AND HAVE THAT GREAT EXPERIENCE ALL THROUGH SCHOOL, SO THEY WANT TO COME TO SCHOOL, THEY WANT TO GRADUATE, ET CETERA. AND I HAVE A MODEL. WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME FORWARD. HERE HE COMES. EVERYONE CLAP FOR NICK.

NICK IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL MODEL.

I KNOW YOU THINK THAT NICK'S A PROFESSIONAL MODEL BUT HE'S ACTUALLY NOT.

SO WE CAN CREATE ANY TYPE OF CUSTOM CAP, GOWN, UHM, AND IT -- TASSLE, ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT.

AND SO THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WE WANT TO WORK WITH YOU ON. SO IF YOU WANT TO TURN AROUND.

DO THE MODEL THING. COME ON, NICK. AWESOME.

THAT'S RIGHT. SO THOSE ARE SPECIFIC TO LANCASTER.

THEY DON'T COME OUT OF THE BOOK AND WE'LL PUT THE LANCASTER TIGER ON THE RINGS.

[00:45:08]

SO IT CREATES A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF PRIDE IN YOUR DISTRICT.

SO ONCE AGAIN, WE COME TO CAMPUS, WE WORK WITH THE KIDS ON THE YEARBOOK.

WE TAKE THE SENIOR ORDERS, ET CETERA. AND WE ALSO INFLUENCE LIVES.

CAN YOU SIT DOWN, NICK. THANK YOU SO MUCH. DID YOU AN EXCELLENT JOB.

THERE'S -- THERE'S A FUTURE FOR YOU. TYRA BANKS WILL BE CALL BEING YOU TOMORROW, "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL." SO ANOTHER PART OF OUR PROGRAM WHICH YOU GUYS ALSO TOUCHED ON, WHICH IS AWESOME -- WE HAVE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING.

WE HAVE THE " BELIEVE IN YOU" VIDEO SERIES. KEVIN ATLAS IS OUR AMBASSADOR IN OUR SERIES. HE WAS THE FIRST DIVISION I ATHLETE TO PLAY WITH A DISABILITY. HE WAS BORN WITH ONE ARM. HE WENT ON TO PLAY PRO BOWL OVERSEAS. AND WE'RE HAPPY TO BRING TO YOU LANCASTER TO SPEAK TO THE KIDS. WE HAVEN'T THREE-PART SERIES WHERE EOLYMPIC ATHLETES, WWE WRESTLERS, KEVIN HIMSELF, DO, BE NICE, THAT HAS A SEGMENT AND A CURRICULUM YOU CAN USE IN THE CLASSROOMS THAT. IS SOMETHING WE GIVE TO THE SCHOOLS. UHM, THE OTHER PART OF THIS IS WE HAVE SOCIAL AND AN EMOTIONAL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM WHICH WE DEVELOPED AT THE BEGINNING OF COVID. IT IS BASED ON THE CASTLE. IT IS 40 WEEKS OF JOURNALING THAT CAN HELP YOUR KIDS. WE HAVE IT AT THE UPPER ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, HIGH SCHOOL, FACULTY AND STAFF. WE HAVE TRAINING FOR THAT. WE SELL THE JOURNALS.

WE ALSO LET YOU GUYS DOWNLOAD THEM DIGITALLY AT NO CHARGE. SO, ONCE AGAIN, JUST TRYING TO HIT ALL OF THE BUTTONS. AND WE ARE PART OF THE TIGER COMMUNITY.

SO WE ARE LOCAL. VARSITY BRANDS IS IN DALLAS. SO ALL OF OUR BUSINESS UNITS ARE RIGHT HERE. WE HAVE OFFICES SURROUNDING YOU.

YOU AND YOU GUYS CURRENTLY WORK WITH VARSITY SPIRIT AND HAVE FOR SOME TIME AND THAT VARSITY IS THERE. HERFF JONES IS WHAT WE'RE INTRODUCING TO THE TABLE.

AND OUR MCKINLEY REP WAS HERE EARLIER. AND SHE HAD A BRICK GO THROUGH HER WINDSHIELD AND SHE CAME AND THEN ANYWAY. AND THEN THE BRANDS AND OUR PROGRAMS WORK WITH THE IN-DESIGN AND E-DESIGN. QUESTION KEEP UP THINGS WITH KIDS WHO HAVE BOUGHT A BOOK AND SEND OUT AN E-MAIL BLAST. AND THEY CAN RECORD THEIR MEMORIES ESPECIALLY IN HIGH SCHOOL SO THAT THEY CAN SHOW THEIR KIDS 15 YEARS LATER AND SO, IN TURN, THAT IS THEIR JOB TO HELP THEM KNOW THAT. AND SO WHAT WE HAVE PRESENTED THROUGH THE DISTRICT THROUGH RESOURCES THE IDENTITY PRODUCT THE IDENTITY BRANDING, ELEMENT AND ALL OF THE THINGS THAT GO IN, UM, IS SHOWN ON THE BOARD. IT IS A TOTAL OF VALUE OF $260,000 FOR THE DISTRICT, UM, AND THEN BROKEN DOWN HERE AND JUST SOME -- WE HAVE OPEN CURRICULUM, WE HAVE U.S. GAINS. SO, HONESTLY, IT IS A TREASURE TROVE OF THINGS THAT WE CAN HEPALEAN CONFIDENT WE ARE WITH. SO WE'RE HAPPY TO DO SO. AND THAT'S IT.

IT IS THE POWER OF ONE AND VARSITY BRANDS. SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS

I'M HAPPY TO TAKE THOSE. >> WERE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? >> I LIKE YOUR UNIFORM.

>> ISN'T THAT GREAT? >> I LIKE THAT. >> WE CAN CUSTOMIZE THAT AND LOOK ANY WAY. WE CAN DO THAT FOR EARLY COLLEGE ET CETERA.

>> AND WE CAN LET THEM DESIGN THE CAP AND GOWNS AND CUSTOMIZING TO WHAT YOUR NEEDS

ARE. >> IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE. >> NO OTHER QUESTIONS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> THANK YOU, GUYS, SO MUCH, FOR HAVING ME.

[00:50:02]

>> THANK YOU, DR. PERERA. >> THE NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS TAX ROLL ITEMS.

DOCTOR? >> YES. THANK YOU.

I CALL TO THE FRONT MS. PALLILLEE CLIENT FOR LAW AND SHE WILL BE PRESENTING

INFORMATION ON THE DELINQUENT TAX ROLL AND INFORMATION. >> AND PARDON ME I THINK YOUR

LAST NAME IS JOHNSON. >> NO, IT ISED RIGHT POPLEE. AND AS SHE SAID MY NAME IS MS. POPELEE AND I HAVE WITH ME MIKAYLA WATKINS. WE ARE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES OF WITH THE LAW FIRM THAT COLLECT YOUR TAXES ON BEHALF OF THE LANCASTER SCHOOL DISTRICT.

AND WE ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF A LAW FIRM AND WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS AND WE HAVE 34 OFFICES IN DIFFERENT STATES AND WE HAVE 34 OFFICES IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.

WE HAVE REPRESENTED LANCASTER SCHOOL DISTRICT SINCE 1993. AND WE HAVE HAD AN OFFICE IN THE DALLAS COUNTY AREA FOR 38 YEARS. LIKE I SAID, WE ARE COLLECTORS OF DELINQUENT GOVERNMENTAL DEBT. WE ARE PROUD OF WHAT WE DO. AND WE KNOW THAT THAT WILL HELP YOU FOR YOUR DISTRICT. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE SERVICES THAT WE PROVIDE.

WE PROVIDE A TAILOR-MADE COLLECTION PROGRAM FOR THE OUTSTANDING TAXES.

WE WILL REPRESENT YOU IN BANKRUPTCY COURT WHEN NECESSARY. WE REPRESENT YOU IN STATE COURT AND APPELLATE COURT. WE PROVIDING LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT WHEN NECESSARY AND WE CAN GIVE YOU COMPLEX, UGH, HELP WITH YOU SOME OF YOUR COMPLEX LEGAL ISSUES WHEN NECESSARY.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE TAX ROLL. WHEN WE RECEIVE YOUR TAX ROLL WE GO THROUGH A SERIES OF STATES IN ORDER TO TAILOR-MAKE A TAILOR-MADE COLLECTION PROGRAM FOR YOU. FIRST WE RECEIVE YOUR TAX ROLL AND WE LOOK AT YOUR MOBILE HOME ACCOUNTS. AND WE LOOK AT THAT ROLL AND WE ANALYZE AND WE ELIMINATE THOSE THAT ARE LEGALLY PROTECTED. THOSE LEGALLY PROTECTED ACCOUNTS ARE ACCOUNTS THAT ARE IN BANKRUPTCY. THEY COULD BE ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE EXEMPTIONS SUCH AS OVER 56, EXEMPTION OR DEFERRAL OR THEY COULD BE BARRED BY SOME LEGAL STATUTE. ONCE WE HAVE ELIMINATED THOSE WE SEND OUT LETTERS TO COLLECT THE ACCOUNTS. OF COURSE, IF WE CAN'T CONTACT THE DELINK BE WENT DEBTORS WE CANNOT -- IF WE CAN'T CONTACT THE DELINQUENT DEBTORS WE GO AFTER THE DELINQUENT DEBTOR.

OF COURSE, WE NEGOTIATE DEBT AND NEGOTIATE PAYMENTS AND WE HAVE ACCOUNTS THAT OF PUT THOSE IN -- IN LAWSUIT, WHEN NECESSARY. ONCE THE LAWSUIT IS FILED, WE TAKE IT -- WE PROSECUTE THAT LAWSUIT TO A FINAL JUDGMENT. AND THOSE ACCOUNTS THAT REMAIN OUTSTANDING ARE AVAILABLE THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH. ONCE THEY ARE OFFERED FOR SALE THEY ARE EITHER SOLD OR IF THEY REMAIN UNPAID THEY ARE TAXED OFF ONE OF THE ENTITIES AND AVAILABLE FOR RESALE. SO ALL THROUGH THE PROCESS WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT YOUR DELINQUENT DOLLARS. AND LIKE WE SAID WE RECEIVE THE TURNOVER IN APRIL AND IN JULY IT IS A REAL PROPERTY TURNOVER AND I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO MAKAYLA TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT YOUR MOST RECENT TURNOVER LOOKED LIKE FROM DALLAS COUNTY.

>> GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. SO I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BREAKDOWN ON THE TURNER THAT WERE GIVEN TO US. SO WHEN WE SAY TURNOVER, THOSE WERE PROVIDED TO THE COUNTY OR CITY ON THAT DELINQUENCY DATE. AND THEY BECOME DELINQUENT ON THE FIRST.

[00:55:02]

AND THEN AFTER THOSE TWO DATES APRIL AND JULY THAT SHE ELABORATED ON, THAT IS WHEN WE DO OUR WORK. SO IT WAS $1 POINT 1 MILLION IN 2019.

HOWEVER AS YOU'LL NOTICE, THERE WAS A DECREASE BRINGING THE 2020 TO 164,136.

IF YOU TAKE A LOOK OVER TO THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE, YOU'LL SEE A BREAKDOWN OF EXACTLY HOW THAT TURNER CONSISTED. AND SO -- THE TURNOVER CONSISTED.

SO THE TURNOVER WAS THE REAL PROPERTY. SO THOSE ARE GOING TO BE YOUR HOMES AND YOUR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS AND ANYTHING THAT IS CONSIDERED PERMANENT.

AND THEN IT WILL BE THE NEXT TIER WHICH ARE THE BUSINESSES THAT CAN RELOCATE.

THE REASON WE START THE APRIL COLLECTIONS FOR BPP IS THE ABILITY FOR YOUR BUSINESSES TO RELOCATION. SO IT GIVES US MORE TIME TO RELOCATE THEM, FIND OUT IF THEY ARE POTENTIALLY IN BUSINESS, FIND OUT IF THERE IS A LEGAL OWNER, OR SEE IF THE DBA IS VARYING IN ANY CAPACITY. AND THEN TWO/10TH'S OF A PERCENT WILL BE YOUR MOBILE HOMES. SO IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE VALUES YOU HAVE 28H65,000, 77,000 IN BUSINESS PROPERTY AND ONLY ABOUT $1,30O. THAT IS FOR MOBILE HOMES.

IS AND THEN WE HAVE THOSE THAT ARE ESTABLISHED AND THEN WE HAVE THOSE COUNTS BASED ON THAT AMOUNT. SO YOUR PRIMARY NUMBERS ARE GOING TO BE IN YOUR ACCOUNTS THAT ARE $100 TO $1,000, AND $1,000 TO $5,000. BUT IF YOU LOOK TO THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE, YOU SEE HOW THOSE NUMBERS ARE ASTRAY. SO YOU HAVE 100 DOLLARS AND 60ISH AND THEN YOU GET TO ABOUT 400. WHEN YOU GO DOWN A LITTLE BIT YOU'LL HAVE THE 1,000 TO $5,000 ACCOUNTS, WHICH ARE ABOUT 340. GOING DOWN TO THE ACCOUNTS THAT ARE OVER $5,000, THE NUMBER MAY BE SMALLEST, BUT YOU'LL SEE THAT VALUE'S THE HIGHEST, WHICH IS ONLY 151 ACCOUNTS. SO, WHEN YOU SHIFT OVER TO THE RIGHT, YOU SEE HOW THOSE BREAKDOWNS, I GUESS, ACCUMULATE IN DOLLARS. AND MY GLASSES ARE GOING TO GIVE OUT ON ME. 1,000 TO 5,000 AND $1.4 MILLION.

WHEN YOU GET OVER THE # 5,000 YOU ARE GETTING THE LARGER DOLLARS.

AND AS YOU HEARD MS. PAM MENTION EARLIER, WE HAVE A BREAKDOWN OF THE ACCOUNTS.

THIS IS GOING TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE NUMBERS AND LUCKILY YOU'LL SEE THAT THE PRIMARY PERCENTAGE IS GOING TO BE DOLLARS THAT ARE COLLECTIBLE. THAT'S $2.2 MILLION AT 75% OF YOUR VALUE SO THESE ARE ACCOUNTS WHERE WE HAVE ALREADY BEGAN IN MOST SITUATIONS TO MAKE CALLS, TO DO SITE VISITS, TO GET INTO C CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE TAX OWNER, DEFERRALS, EXEMPTIONS, THEY MAY HAVE DISABILITY ON THEM, ANYTHING LIKE THAT WHERE WE ARE NOT ABLE TO TOUCH THEM JUST YET BUT THAT COLLECTIBILITY COULD ALSO CHANGE.

FOR THOSE THAT ARE UNCOLLECTIBLE, IT IS A SMALLER PERCENTAGE, ONLY 1.7%, AND THOSE ARE THE ACCOUNTS THAT SOMETIMES OWE LESS THAN $15. WE'VE NOTICED THAT THEY'RE ON THE TAX ROLL EVEN IF IT ONLY OWES $1, THEY WILL STILL BE PRESENT SO A LOT ARE JUST THOSE $1 ACCOUNTS AS OPPOSED TO LARGE, UNCOLLECTIBLE ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE JUST GONE BY THE WAYSIDE.

ATTEMPTING THE COLLECTION PROGRAM, WE OFFER WAYS TO HAVE REGULAR PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS, THROUGH HOME STAID PAYMENTS.

IF IT IS YOUR PRIMARY RESIDENCE, YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FAR LONGER PAYMENT THAN NORMAL. YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT AT EVERY STEP WE ARE TALKING TO THE TAXPAYER, IF THEY'RE WILLING TO TALK TO US ABOUT RESOLVING THE ACCOUNT.

[01:00:02]

THE JURISDICTION, NONE OF THE TAX AND ENTITIES WANT THE PROPERTY THEY DEFINITELY NEED THE TAX DOLLARS.

WE ALSO DISCUSSED WITH THEM EXEMPTIONS THAT THEY MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR AND WE'LL HELP WALK THEM THROUGH THAT PROCESS IF THEY ARE UNAWARE OF HOW TO AVAIL THEMSELVES TO THOSE EXEMPTIONS.

>> I ENJOY PRESENTING THIS SLIDE BECAUSE I THINK THIS IS THE NUMBER THAT PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE MOST.

AS WE GOT THROUGH THAT 2020 TAX YEAR, THIS IS GOING TO SHOW YOU ALL THE EFFORTS THAT WERE COMBINED IN ORDER TO BRING IN THAT FINAL DOLLAR FOR YOU. SO WITH 12 LAWSUIT THAT IS WERE FILED, 29 LAWSUITS DISPOSED, WE WENT INTO BANKRUPTCY WITH 16 ACCOUNTS. WE DID SEVEN MAILINGS THAT ENTAILED 2044 LETTERS AND WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE EIGHT PROPERTIES TO SHERIFF SALE BRINGING IN $821,000.

THAT BROUGHT IN $88,525 FOR LANCASTER SCHOOL DISTRICT AND WE WANT TO POINT OUT THAT THAT IS A COST FREE PROGRAM TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT SO WHEN THE TAXES ARE BROKEN DOWN, THAT PERCENTAGE THAT GOES TOWARDS WHICH EVER PURPLE THAT DOES THE COLLECTION, THOSE ATTORNEY FEES ARE ADDED ADDITIONALALLY SO IT DOESN'T TAKE AWAY ANY DOLLARS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ALLOCATED TOWARDS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OR ANY JURISDICTION.

IT'S TOTALLY SEPARATE AND DOESN'T INTERFERE WITH YOU ALL'S

DOLLARS TOWARDS YOUR DISTRICT. >> WE LIKE TO POINT THAT OUT SO THAT YOU ONLY YOUR DELINQUENT TAXPAYER PAYS FOR OUR YOU HAVES SERVICE ONLY IF THEY REMAIN DELINQUENT.

WE KNOW WE'RE LIVING IN A WORLD OF COVID AND WE'RE STILL IN THE WORLD OF COVID AND WE HAD TO PIVOT AND TAILOR OUR PROGRAM BECAUSE OF COVID SO BECAUSE OF THAT, WE WERE PROVIDING TAXPAYERS WITH INFORMATION TO CONTACT NONPROFITS OR GOVERNMENTAL ASSISTANCE BRAMANTES TO SOLVE ISSUES SOMETIMES NOT NECESSARILY RELATED TO THE TAX BALANCE.

WETO SOLVE ISSUES SOMETIMES NOT NECESSARILY RELATED TO THE TAX BALANCE. WE PROVIDED THAT INFORMATION.

WE ALSO WORKED WITH DECLASSED COUNTY TO GET UP AND RUNNING BECAUSE OUR TAX SALESDALLAS COUNTY TO GET UP AND RUNNING BECAUSE OUR TAX SALES WERE NONEXISTENT UNTIL JULY OF 2020.

ALMOST HALF THE YEAR THERE WERE NO TAX SALES.

WE TAILORED OUR LAWSUIT FILING PROGRAM AS WELL.

GENERALLY WE DID NOT CHERRY PICK ACCOUNTS.

IF THE ACCOUNT WAS STILL DELINQUENT WE FILED A LAWSUIT ON IT BY UNDER COVID, WE GAVE CONSIDERATION TO THOSE WHO WERE FIRST TIME DELINQUENT AND DECIDED TO NOT PUT THEM IN LAWSUIT AS QUICKLY AS WE MAY HAVE IN OTHER INSTANCES.

THIS IS JUST OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PAGE.

WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THE WORK WE DO.

WE ALSO WANT TO BE GOOD CITIZENS SO WE'RE VERY INVOLVED IN OUR COMMUNITIES THAT WE REPRESENT. WE HAVE PARTICIPATED WITH AND SUPPORTED THE LANCASTER INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. THE LANCASTER CHAMBER NOW THE INLAND PORT CHAMBER, SO WE TRY TO BE INVOLVED IN OUR COMMUNITIES BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE GOOD CITIZENS AS WELL.

OUR CONTACT INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.

OUR MANAGING PARTNERS, BRIDGET MORENO LOPEZ, MYSELF, AND MIKAYLA ARE THE PAIN CONTACTS. IF AT ANY POINT YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, YOU CAN CALL US AND WITH THAT WE'LL TAKE QUESTIONS

AT THIS TIME. >> ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD? MS. MORRIS?

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH, MADAM PRESIDENT, I APPRECIATE THAT.

I HAVE QUITE A BIT OF QUESTIONS BECAUSE OUR COMMUNITY DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE TAX RATE -- YEARS AGO WHEN YOUR FIRM CONTINUED TO BE OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT, BOARD MEMBERS WOULD GET A PRINTOUT OF ALL THE DEALINGS ON TAXES.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT SPREADSHEET IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

I ALSO WANT TO -- I WOULD JUST LOVE, AND I'M SURE THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH DR. PERRERA, BUT WE NEED -- I DON'T KNOW IF

[01:05:06]

DALLAS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT WILL COME OUT BUT SOME OF THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THINK THAT WE CAN JUST DO NO TAXES, WE'RE A NONPROFIT, AND I HEAR ALL THE TIME WITH DALLAS, OVER 65, DALLAS DON'T PAY ANY TACKS AND ALL OF THAT AND IT'S HARD TO GET INDIVIDUALS TO UNDERSTAND THAT'S THEOF THAT AND IT'S HARD TO GET INDIVIDUALS TO UNDERSTAND THAT'S TALL OF THAT AND IT'S HARD TO GT INDIVIDUALS TO UNDERSTAND THAT'S THE LAW OF THE LAND THAT YOU PAY TAXES. THAT'S HOW WE PAY OUR STAFF, THAT'S HOW WE EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN.

IT'S HARD TO GET, EVEN SOME BOARD MEMBERS, TO UNDERSTAND THAT THAT HAS TO HAPPEN. IF EVERYBODY TAKES THAT DEFERMENT, OUR STAFF WON'T GET PAID.

>> CORRECT. >> HOPEFULLY YOU ALL CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR THE COMMUNITY AND, YOU KNOW, HAVE SOME WORKSHOPS OR HAVE QUESTIONS WHERE THE COMMUNITY CAN ASK BECAUSE THEY GET PRETTY UPSET. THEY THINK WE CAN SAY, OKAY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY TAXES OR WE CAN REDUCE YOUR TAXES TO NOTHING AND THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. I KNOW THAT BECAUSE OF WHAT I DO, BUT IT'S HARD AND TRUST ME, IF I COULD DEFER MINE BECAUSE THEY WENT UP TO $4,000 THIS YEAR AND I DON'T LIKE THAT, BUT GUESS WHAT, IT GOES TO OUR STAFF, IT GOES TO OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION AND EVEN THOUGH MY KIDS, MY FROND KIDS WILL BE OUT THERE, WE HAVE TO PAY FOR OUR CHILDREN. I KNOW THAT'S A LOT.

CAN YOU UNDERSTAND ANY OF THAT? >> I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING MADAM TRUSTEE. WITH DALLAS COUNTY, WE HAVE DONE SOME TOWN HALL-TYPE MEETINGS WHERE THOSE TYPE OF EXPLANATIONS ARE GIVEN SO WE CAN WORK WITH THEM TO DO THAT AND WE'LL BE PRESENT BUT IT WILL PRIMARILY COME FROM THE TAX ASSESSOR AND THE DALLAS CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT BUT WE'RE CERTAINLY ABLE TO WORK WITH YOU IN GETTING THAT SCHEDULE IF THAT'S

SOMETHING YOU WANT TO DO. >> I NO THE TAX ASSESSOR AND I CALLED HIM AND HAD A CITIZEN ON THE PHONE AND THEY STILL DIDN'T BELIEF ME, SO THAT'S A HARD JOB AND AS BOARD MEMBERS, WE HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, SUFFER THOSE CONSEQUENCES TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND HOW OUR DISTRICT RUNS AND WE'RE NOT FOR-PROFIT.

I HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION. YOU STATED EARLIER, I WROTE DOWN SUPPORT THE LANCASTER EDUCATION FOUNDATION?

>> YES. >> OKAY, DO YOU KNOW THAT THAT

IS A SEPARATE ENTITY? >> YES.

>> OKAY. I WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU ALL KNEW THAT IT'S NOT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THAT IS A NONPROFIT, SEPARATE ENTITY.

>> YES, WE'RE AWARE OF THAT. >> ALL RIGHT, THANK YOU.

>> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD?

>> I DO HAVE ONE. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR GETTING US $888,525 BACK INTO OUR COFFERS AND YOU MENTIONED THROUGH THE COMPASSION PROGRAM YOU NOTIFY THOSE ABOUT THE EXEMPTIONS. HOW FAR BACK CAN THEY CLAIM

THOSE EXEMPTIONS >> USUALLY ABOUT TWO YEARS FROM THE DATE THAT THEY FILE FOR THE EXEMPTION.

THE APPRAISAL DISTRICT. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> FOR THE EXEMPTIONSES, LIKE DISABILITY, DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP

APPLYING? >> NO, THE DISTRICT MAY SENT OUT TO NOTICE ASKING YOU TO REAFFIRM BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO REPLY.

[01:10:03]

>> MR. SMITH? >> ABOUT TWO SLIDES BACK, THERE WAS A 51 AT THE BOTTOM AND IT LOOKED LIKE THE 51 WAS FOR ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, WHAT IS THAT? OR DID IOR DID I MISREAD SOMETH? OH, THAT'S THE PAGE NUMBER.

OKAY. OKAY.

THINK. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THAT WAS.

AM I CORRECT IN READING THAT WE SOLD EIGHT PROPERTIES FOR

$121,000? >> THAT'S CORRECT.

>> WHAT KIND OF PROPERTIES ARE WE TALKING ABOUT HERE? SO THIS IS THE NUMBER OF ALL THE COSTS ARE --

>> THAT'S CORRECT. >> I'M GOOD.

YOU ASKED ABOUT WHAT MAKES A DISABILITY, CAN YOU ELABORATE ON THAT BECAUSE IT'S NOT A TOTAL ZERO EXEMPTION FOR DISABILITY.

>> YEAH, THE EXEMPTION WILL GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT, SO TO SPEAK, ON YOUR TAXES.

THERE'S ALSO THE ABILITY TOO GET A DEFERRAL. THAT DOES NOT WIPE THE TAXES AWAY. IT WILL ABATE ANY EFFORTS TO COLLECT SO THE TAXES WILL CONTINUE TO ACCRUE BUT YOU WON'T HEAR FROM PEOPLE LIKE US ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT YOUR TAXES UNTIL YOU NO LONGER OWE THE PROPERTY OR UNTIL YOU'RE DECEASED.

>> AND THEN WHOEVER OWNS THE PROPERTY HAS TO PAY THE TAXES. >> USUALLY THE HEIRESS WOULD

INHERIT THAT. >> THAT NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED. >> IS THERE A VARIANCE IN THAT

DISABILITY EXEMPTION IN DIFFERENT AREAS? >> THERE IS.

EACH ENTITY GETS TO DECIDE THE AMOUNT OF THE EXEMPTION THAT THEY'RE GOING TO ALLOW.

>> WHEN YOU SAY ENTITY, THAT'S DALLAS COUNTY? >> NO, THE TAXING APTTY.

IT COULD BE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IT COULD BE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE CITY, OR DALLAS COUNTY.

>> OKAY. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. >> I GUESS YOU WILL GET THAT TO

DR. PERERA? >> YES, THE PRINTOUT AND I WILL WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU AS WELL IN

TERMS OF THE WORKSHOPS. >> THE NEXT INFORMATION I'M IS ESSER II APPLICATION OVERVIEW,

>> WE HAVE DR. JACKSON AND DR. ANGLIA KNIGHT. AS WE ALL KNOW, THOSE ESSER II FUNDS PUT OUT, OVER $122 BILLION FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS ACROSS THE NATION AND WE HAVE TO GIVE AN

UPDATE REGARDING THOSE FUNDS COMING TO LANCASTER. >> GOOD EVENING MADAM PRESIDENT AND TRUSTEES. I'M DR. ANGIE KNIGHT AND I AND DR. JACKSON ARE HERE SEEKING YOUR APPROVAL FOR THE ESSER II GRANT. THIS IS TO HELP SCHOOL DISTRICTS SAFELY REOPEN, MEASURE, AND EFFECTIVELY REDUCE LEARNING LOSS AND HELP THE STUDENTS AND FAMILY WHO IS DEPEND ON OUR SCHOOLS. AS I PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, THIS GRANT IS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE ACADEMIC DEFICIT THAT IS WERE BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE PANDEMIC SCHOOL CLOSURES, BUT WE STRATEGICALLY IDENTIFIED AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY THAT WOULD SEAMLESSLY ALIGN WITH OUR GOALS.

SO ESSER II WOULD GIVE US AN OPPORTUNITY TO EQUIP 660 CLASSROOMS WITH SMART BARTS FOR INTUITIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR OUR STUDENTS AND THE DUAL MONITORS WILL ALLOW THEM TO

IMPROVE THEIR WORKPLACE PERFORMANCE. >> THANK YOU DR. KNIGHT.

[01:15:08]

AS YOU KNOW, LANCASTER SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS ONE OF THE TOP TECHNICAL PROGRAMS IN THE STATE.

WE HAVE 11 PROGRAMS OF STUDY INCLUDING SOFTWARE, ENGINEERING, ROBOTICS AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS. ONE OF THE CHARGES OUR SUPERINTENDENT GAVE US TO ENSURE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR STUDENTS ALL HAD A CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE EXPERIENCE IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT, SO THERE HAVE, WE'LL BE ADDING MARACHI BANDS, DANCE ENSEMBLES AND RESIDENCIES.

THE GRANT WILL INVOLVE A HUGE LITERACY INITIATIVE. YESTERDAY WE GIST -- JUST FINISHED OUR PROFESSIONAL SESSION WHERE NOW OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT, ALL EMPLOYEES HAVE RECEIVED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ON FOUR ADDITIONAL PRACTICE THAT IS WILL ROLL OUT IN NOVEMBER. ACCORDING TO ONE STAFF MEMBER, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR SCHOOL DISTRICT WHERE EACH AND EVERY GRADE LEVEL AND EVERY EMPLOYEE WILL BE OPERATING IN THE SAME CAPACITY UTILIZING THE SAME INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES AND EVERYTHING WILL BE OPERATING ON ONE ACCORD AND WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS.

EDUCATIONAL EPIPHANY IS ONE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDED THE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROCESS AND WE'RE VERY, VERY EXCITED ABOUT BRINGING THOSE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES TO THE DISTRICT. IF YOU DON'T MINE, ON FEBRUARY 16TH, WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES AND JOIN US AS WE GO THROUGH EACH OF OUR CAMPUSES SO YOU CAN VISIT WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. WE HAVE SOME AMAZING THINGS GOING ON IN OUR SCHOOLS LEAD BY PHENOMENAL PRINCIPLES. THE OUT LAY PROJECT INCLUDES PLEXIGLAS AND OUR DISINFECTANT FOGGERS PROPROVIDING US ALMOST IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO OUR BUILDINGS AS IT RELATES TO DISINFECTING OUR CLASSROOMS. THIS IS A BREAKDOWN WITH THE BUDGET AMOUNTS.

AT THIS TIME, I WILL BE OPEN FOR ANY QUESTIONS. >> I SEE WHERE LITERACY KITS ARE AVAILABLE, IS THAT FOR ALL PLEAS? PARENTS INCLUDED?

>> WE DO HAVE PARENT INVOLVEMENT FUNDS SET ASIDE THROUGH OUR TITLE ONE BUDGET AND THAT IS

AVAILABLE IF PARENTS NEED THOSE. >> OH, OKAY. >> DO YOU MIND GOING BACK ONE SLIDE? I WANT TO MAKE SURE I ANSWER THE -- NO, COME BACK.

ALLOCATED $120,000, IS THAT FOR STUDENTS OR STAFF RETENTION? >> A COMBINATION OF BOTH BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, TEACHERS. THAT REQUIRES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO ENSURE THE TEACHER HAS EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO REMAIN IN THE DISTRICT.

>> SO THAT WOULD ALSO COVER IF THE TEACHER NEEDS -- >> CERTIFICATION, PROFESSIONAL

DEVELOPMENT, YES, MA'AM. >> OKAY, SO WE WILL OFFER THEM A GRANT OR FUNDING TO GET THAT

CERTIFICATION? >> YES, MA'AM. >> OKAY.

>> I DO HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS FOR YOU AS IT RELATES TO TECHNOLOGY.

WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED USES FOR THOSE DEVICES IN WHICH THE GRADE LEVELS WILL BE IMPACTED?

>> MR. JONES, THOSE PROMETHIAN BOARD WILL BE IN EVERY CLASSROOM IN THE DISTRICT, 466 CLASSROOMS BECAUSE LMS ALREADY HAS THE CLASSROOMS OUTFITTED WITH SMART BOARDS.

>> [INDISCERNIBLE] >> YES. >> GOOD ANSWER.

>> ALL RIGHT THANK YOU, ALL. >> THAT ALLOWS INTERACTION BETWEEN THE STUDENTS AND THE

[01:20:02]

TEACHERS AS WELL. >> THE NEXT ITEM IS TOYOTA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY UPDATES.

>> I WANT TO BRING FORWARD MS. BELL AND MS. BENSKIN TO SHARE A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TOYOTA

PARTNERSHIP. >> GOOD EVENING MADAM BOARD PRESIDENT, SUPERINTENDENT DR. PERERA AND OUR DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBERS. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH TOYOTA CORPORATION FOR SOME TIME NOW AND WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU SOME BRIEF UPDATES ABOUT THE PROGRAMMING THAT WE HAVE UNDERWAY AT THIS TIME. SO, FOR STARTERS, I WANTED TO MENTION THAT WE'RE INTEGRATING TECHNICAL SKILLS. WE DID THIS OVER THE SUMMER SO NOW WE'RE IMPLEMENTING THAT WITHIN THE SCHOOLS. ALSO, OUR CURRICULUM INTEGRATION, WE WORKED WITH HAMPTON UNIVERSITY OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS, PARTICULARLY WITH CYBER SECURITY, PROGRAMMING AND SOFTWARE, ENGINEERING AND BUSINESS.

THESE TEACHERS HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK DIRECTLY WITH INDIVIDUALS AT HAMPTON UNIVERSITY. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THEY ALSO PICKED UP ON THE TOYOTA WAY TRAINING WORKSHOPS AS WELL AND BEBROUGHT THAT TO OUR STUDENTS, TOO.

CURRENTLY WE'RE CANVASSING AND RECRUITING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. WE'RE LOOKING FOR STUDENTS HELP INCREASE OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM AND ALSO ONE THING I WANT TO MENTION THAT'S GOING ON AT PLEASANT RUN ELEMENTARY WITH TUTOR MATE, THAT'S A PROGRAM THAT WORKS WITH STUDENTS WITH A LITERACY COMPONENT. WE HAVE 60 STUDENTS IMPACTED BY THIS, 30 FIRST GRADERS AND 30 SECOND GRADERS. SOMEONE PIPES IN WITH THEM VIA ZOOM OR REMOTELY AND AT THAT TIME THE INDIVIDUAL IS WORKING WITH THE STUDENT AND BASICALLY THEY'RE ACTING AS A TUTOR TO WORK WITHIN THE AREA OF READING. THE LAST THING I WANT TO MENTION, PART OF MY HIGHLIGHT AND THE IMPLEMENTATION PHASE SO FAR IS THE RON CLARK ACADEMY. WE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY ABOUT TEN OF US AND WE VISITED RON CLARK ACADEMY ALONG WITH OUR TOYOTA TEAM AND WE HAD THE GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ALL THE MAY JUROR TENANTS OF WHAT MAKES THE RON CLARK ACADEMY SO ROBUST WITH THEIR ACADEMIC AND CULTURE THAT THEY HAVE THERE ONCLARK ACADEMY THEIR ACADEMIC AND CULTURE THAT THEY HAVRON CLARK ACADEMY SO ROH THEIR ACADEMIC AND CULTURE THAT THEY HAVE THERE ON THEIR CAMPUS.

WE WERE ABLE TO BRING THAT BACK AND WE STARTED TRAINING OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND AT BAMO CURRENTLY. I DID MENTION EARLIER I HAVE WITH ME MS. BENSKIN AND

MR. HEIMAN FROM TOYOTA. >> GOOD EVENING MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. PERERA AND BOARD MEMBERS.

MS. BELL TOLE YOU WHAT WE HAVE DONE AND NOW I WANT TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT OUR NEXT STEPS.

CURRENTLY WE'RE WORKING ON FILMING SOME EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS FOR OUR DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY AS WELL AS TOYOTA. WE'LL BE DOING LOCAL AND NATIONAL MEDIA. TITHE HAS TOYOTA HAS ARRANGED FOROYOTA HAS ARRANGED FOR HAMPT UNIVERSITY TO TUTORING FOR OUR STUDENTS. AS MS. BELL MENTIONED, WE'RE ALSO WORKING FOR HIGH SCHOOL TURN AROUND MENTORING PROGRAM WHICH WILL BRING MORE MENTORING ACTIVITIES FOR THE STUDENTS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. ANOTHER BIG ACTIVITY IS IN THE AREA OF MATH FOR OUR SIXTH GRADE CAMPUS. WE'RE WORKING WITH VARSITY TUTORS TO GET A ROBUST TUTORING PROGRAM FOR OUR STUDENTS AT GWC IN THE AREA OF MATH.

ONE OF THE BIG IDEAS THAT WE HAVE FOR OUR STUDENTS IN CTE WHO ARE WORKING ON SOME OF THOSE CERTIFICATIONS IS TO PROVIDE THEM ACCESS TO ACTUAL LAPTOPS AND MAC BOOKS AS THEY WORK ON THEIR CERTIFICATIONS. SOME OF THE CERTIFICATIONS DON'T WORK WELL WITH CHROME BOOKS SO THE EQUIPMENT THAT TOYOTA WILL PROVIDE IN TERMS OF LAPTOPS WILL HELP THOSE STUDENTS CHECK OUT DEVICES THAT THEY CAN WORK ON AT HOME TO GET THEIR CERTIFICATIONS DONE A LOT QUICKER.

[01:25:03]

THE LAST BIG THING THAT WE'RE WORKING ON IS THE TOYOTA AMBASSADOR PROGRAM.

WE HAVE STUDENT WHO IS WILL SERVE IN A LEADERSHIP POSITION WITH TOYOTA AND THE DISTRICT TO DO ALL SORTS OF ACTIVITIES AND THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS WITH TOYOTA.

WE HAVE DONE THE SURVEY AND WE HAVE ABOUT 30 PLUS STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING AS TOYOTA AMBASSADORS AND THE TOYOTA LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. SO NOW I WOULD LIKE TO TURN IT

OVER TO MR. HEIMAN. >> GOOD EVENING MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. PERERA AND DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBERS. I APPRECIATE YOU HAVING ME. I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DIDN'T SAY WHEN WE WERE STARTING TO DEVELOP THIS AND OUR CEO WANTED US TO ACTUALLY TRANSFORM EDUCATION AND TO GROW EQUITY AROUND THE COUNTRY, WE TALKED TO MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS AROUND THE COUNTRY. WE TALKED TO GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND STATE OFFICIALS AND SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, ETC. THESE TWO YOUNG LADIES WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN MAKING SURE THAT LANCASTER ISD WAS THE PILOT DISTRICT FOR THIS PROGRAM SO THIS IS A START OF WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO NATIONALLY AS AN INITIATIVE SO I WANTED TO RECOGNIZE THEM BECAUSE IT WAS MAINLY BECAUSE OF THEM THAT LANCASTER WAS CHOSEN SO WE APPRECIATE YOU, YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN GREAT TO WORK WITH. [APPLAUSE] AND SO, AS WE START TAKING A LOOK AT NEXT PHASES OF GROWING THIS INITIALTIVE, MAPPING OUT PLANS FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT, IT'S A PARTNER ORGANIZATION WE'RE WORKING WITH FOR FINANCIAL LITERACY.

WHAT WE'RE PLANNING IS TO TAKE THAT FROM KINDERGARTEN TO 12TH GRADE HERE IN THE DISTRICT TO MAKE SURE OUR CHILDREN ARE FINANCIALLY LITERATE SO THEY KNOW HOW TO MANAGE THEIR MIN, HOW TO BUDGET, HOW TO NAVIGATE THROUGH SEAT FINANCIALLY SO THAT'S COMING REALLY SOON.

SCHOLARSHIP ALLOCATION, SO WE WANTED, IN THIS FIRST YEAR, TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE WERE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR OUR STUDENTS, BUT THE VISION IS WHY NOT TRY TO MAKE THAT MORE STREAMLINE IN TERMS OF HAVING A PIPELINE TO PARTNER WITH INSTITUTIONS.

WE HAVE TALKED WITH INSTITUTIONS IN TEXAS AND ABROAD TO SEE HOW TO SEND STUDENTS TO TOYOTA WITH THOSE PATHWAYS OF STUDY THAT WE EXPLAINED EARLIER SO THAT'S IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DISCUSSED AND I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT START TO HOW WE WANT TO GROW THIS AND HAVE OUR STUDENT BES PREPARED TO GO TO COLLEGE AND GOING TO THE NEXT LEVEL, ESPECIALLY FINANCIALLY.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES, THIS IS ONE WE'RE THINKING NOT JUST AT THE DISTRICT BUT WITH THE UNIVERSITY AS WELL. THERE ARE SUMMER PROGRAMS WE CAN HAVE HERE THAT BRIDGE STUDENTS OVER BUT ALSO GRANTS FOR STUDENTS TO COME FOR FREE. WE HAVE ALREADY TALKED WITH SEVERAL SO THAT'S SOMETHING I WANT TO DISCUSS WITH THE TEAM. THESE ARE OPPORTUNITIES WE CAN HAVE FOR OUR STUDENTS TO GO FOR FREE TO SCHOOLS HERE IN TEXAS AND IN OTHER STATES THAT PAY FOR YOU TO COME AND SPEND THREE OR 4 WEEKS AT THEIR INSTITUTION TO STUDY VERY SUBJECTS AND DISCIPLINES. THAT'S BEING DISCUSSED AS WELL AND FINALLY, THE RON CLARK ACADEMY, WHICH MS. BELL TALKED ABOUT EARLIER, THE NEXT LEVEL OF THAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THE TEAM LEARNED FROM HOUSE PROGRAMS TO AMAZING HANDSHAKE COMPETITIONS.

THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS THAT THIS CAN GO AND THINGS THAT THEY GLEAN FROM THAT TIME SO PUTTING THAT TOGETHER FOR THIS YEAR AND NEXT IS WHAT OUR GOAL IS SO THAT WILL BE FORTHCOMING AS WELL. WHAT'S NOT LISTED HERE, I HAVE A COUPLE OF THINGS I WANT TO MENTION. DUAL CREDIT I THINK IS A BIG THING AND A GREAT OPPORTUNITY.

I THINK I HEARD THE GENTLEMAN TALKING ABOUT EARLY COLLEGE WHEN I WALKED IN.

I TALKED WITH A COUPLE OF INSTITUTIONS TODAY AND EVEN WE HAVE SOME SETTING UP LATER ON THIS WEEK, THAT COULD BE ANOTHER PIPELINE FOR OUR STUDENTS TO SET UP SPECIFIC INSTITUTIONS TO GIVE DUAL CREDIT TO OUR STUDENTS FOR VARIOUS DISCIPLINES SO THAT'S ALSO BEING DISCUSSED.

INDUSTRY INSTRUCTION FOR REAL WORLD APPLICATION, SO WE HAVE SEVERAL TOYOTA TEAM MEMBERS, VPS ON DOWN THAT WANT TO PLAY A MAJOR PART IN THE TOYOTA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY, SO NOT JUST TO BE A GUEST SPEAKER BUT TO COME IN AND TEACH A CLASS, TEACH A LEAD THROUGH PROJECT.

WE HAVE THE ENGINEERING VP FOR TOYOTA WHO WANTS TO COME IN AND LEAD AN ENGINEERING CLASS WITH THE PROJECT. I'M NOT AN ENGINEER SO I CAN'T GET WITH ALL THE TECHNICAL TERMS BUT THAT'S JUST GOING TO START IN JANUARY. FROM BUSINESS, CYBER SECURITY,

[01:30:06]

WE HAVE PROFESSIONALS TO GET STUDENTS EXCITED SO THEY WANT TO MAJOR IN SOME OF THESE THINGS AND EXCEL IN THEM, SO THAT'S ALSO FORTHCOMING. THE FINAL THING WAS COLLABORATION WITH OTHER CORPORATE PARTNERS. WE HAVE PARTNERS NOW THAT ARE IN THE DISTRICT. TOYOTA, WE JUST CAME IN. THERE'S NO REASON WHY WE CAN'T ALL WORK TOGETHER FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR DISTRICT. WE HAVE HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH TEXAS INSTRUMENTS AND IF THERE ARE MY ANY OTHER PARTNERS, WE HAVE THAT, TOO.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS THIS TERMS OF THE NEXT PHASES OF THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY OR ANYTHING

THAT WE TALKED ABOUT EARLIER? >> MR. SMITH? >> ONE QUICK ONE, JUST SIGN ME

UP WHEN YOU'RE READY FOR VOLUNTEERS. >> OKAY.

>> ABSOLUTELY. >> MS. MORRIS? >> THANK YOU, SIGN ME UP, TOO, BUT I WANT TO ASK YOU OUTSIDE OF DR. PERERA AND OUR DISTINGUISHED STAFF THAT BROUGHT YOU ON BOARD,

WHAT CAN OUR BOARD DO? >> YOU GUYS ARE GOOD. WE'RE TRYING TO BE AS INNOVATIVE AS POSSIBLE. DIFFERENT WAYS TO THINK ABOUT IMPACTING THE CHILDREN, IMPACTING THE STAFF, ANY WAY YOU CAN SUPPORT THAT, IF WE COME TO YOU WITH AN INITIATIVE, BE OPEN TO IT. IF IT WORKS, GREET, IF NOT, WE'LL MOVE AND PIVOT TO

SOMETHING ELSE SO WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT. >> YOU GOT THAT.

>> THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION. >> THANK YOU.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. >> NEXT INFORMATION ITEM IS OPERATIONS UPDATES, DR. PERERA?

>> YES, THINK, MADAM CHAIR. WE'LL BRING FORWARD DR. JOHN PRICE TO TALK ABOUT THE REPAIRS

AT LANCASTER HIGH SCHOOL AND BOARDROOM UPGRADES. >> GOOD EVENING.

I WANT TO UPDATE YOU ON THREE DIFFERENT ITEMS. THE FIRST ONE IS THE HIGH SCHOOL COLISEUM REPAIR. YOU WILL RECALL THAT THE AUGUST 26TH BOARD MEETING, THE BOARD APPROVAL RESOLUTION GIVING THE SUPERINTENDENT EXERCISE OF EMERGENCY CONTRACTING POWERS NOT TO EXCEED $300,000 TO REPAIR THE DAMAGES AND SO AFTER GOING THROUGH A COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS WE SELECTED THE BOSTEL GROUP TO COMPLETE THE WORK FOR THE WALL COAST NOT ST NOT TO EX $200,000. THEY ARE A MEMBER OF THE [INDISCERNIBLE] SYSTEM AND I UPLOADED THE CONTRACT NUMBER UP TO YOUR BOARD DOCUMENTS. WE ALSO UPLOADED THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS REPORT IN WHICH THE ENGINEER FOUND NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE HIGH SCHOOL, BUT DID RECOMMEND THAT THE DISTRICT CONSULT A WATERPROOFING CONSULTANT.

THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ALSO RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE CAST STONES WITH ANOTHER MATERIAL OR CAST STONES THAT WERE PROPERLY ANCHORED. THE REMAINING CAST STONES ON THE BUILDING WILL HAVE TO BE REMOVED AND AFTER CONSULTING A WATERPROOFING EXPERT, WATERPROOFING WILL BE DONE PRIOR TO REPLACING THESE CAST STONES BUT WE'RE GOING TO REPLACE THEM WITH A STONE LIKE CAST STONE THAT WILL GIVE THE BUILDING THE SAME LOOK AT A MUCH LOWER PRICE.

THESE PLASTER STONES WEIGH SUBSTANTIALLY LESS THAN THE REAL CAST STONES WHICH ARE MADE OF CONCRETE. THIS WILL ALLOW THE PLASTER SHAPED CAST STONES TO BE COMMENTED TO THE WALL. WE'RE ESTIMATING THAT ALL REPAIRS TO THE STRUCTURE, THE WINDOWS, THE WALL, AND THE CANOPY WILL BE COMPLETED ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 31ST OF THIS YEAR. WE'LL BEGIN WITH THE INTERIOR REPAIRS TO THE COLISEUM FIRST.

ADDITIONALLY, WE WILL PUT A TEMPORARY COVERING CONSTRUCTED ALLOWING ENTRY AND EXIT TO

[01:35:09]

PREVENT DISREPLAX OF THE BASKETBALL RUPTION OF THE BASKETBALL SEASON, WHICH, OF COURSE, WILL BE STARTING SOON. THE COST OF THE RESTORATION OF THE ORCHESTRA PIT IS CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS AND IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF THIS MONTH, IF NOT SHORTLY AFTER.

THE COST OF THE RESTORATION FOR THE ORCHESTRA PIT IS BEING COVERED BY INSURANCE EXCLUDING THE COST OF $8,000 FOR REMEDIATION AND, OF COURSE, OUR $25,000 INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE.

THE LANCASTER HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM SHOULD BE BACK ONLINE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RESTORATION OF THE ORCHESTRA PIT IS COMPLETED. THE LAST ITEM I HAVE FOR YOU IS THE BOARDROOM UPGRADE. AND ACTUALLY, THIS UPDATE HAS CHANGED AS OF YESTERDAY.

WE HAD A CONFERENCE CALL WITH SWAGIT AND VISIONALITY WHICH IS THE AUDIO UPGRADE COMPANY.

BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 8TH THROUGH THE 26TH, WE HAVE ASKED THE DISTRICT TO GIVE US PERMISSION TO SHUT DOWN THE BOARDROOM SO THAT WE CAN BEGIN TO PULL ALL THE AUDIO WIRE AND PUT IN THE NEW AUDIO WIRING FOR THE BOARDROOM AND HAVE THAT COMPLETED IN TIME FOR THE NOVEMBER 30TH MEETING. THAT WON'T COMPLETE THE ENTIRE UPGRADE.

WE HAVE 3 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT REMAINING. ONE IS THE CONTROL THAT CONTROLS THE VOTING THAT WILL SHOW ON SCREEN ONCE YOU START VOTING. THE OTHER IS THE CAPTIONING DEVICE THAT WILL ROLL ACROSS THE SCREEN AND TRANSLATE INTO SPANISH AND ENGLISH WHAT IS BEING SAID AND THE OTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS THE AUDIO NIGHT CONTROL EQUIPMENT FOR THE BOARD SHARE AND THE CONVENER OF THE MEETING. BUT, BY DOING THE AUDIO REPAIR, PULLING ALL THE WIRE OUT OF THIS BUILDING AND REPLACE IT WITH THE NEW WIRE AND GETTING YOU NEW AUDIO, WHEN THOSE THINGS COME IN IN DECEMBER, IF WE'RE LUCKY, AND WE'RE STILL LOOKING AT A DECEMBER DATE, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS CONNECT THOSE 3 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND THE BOARDROOM UPGRADE WILL BE COMPLETE SO THIS PUTS US IN A MUCH BETTER STEAD THAN WE HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS THAT I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO YOU ABOUT THIS. AT THIS TIME, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RESPOND TO ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE ON ANY OF THESE THREE ITEMS.

>> BOARD, ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? >> I JUST HAVE ONE REGARDING THE BOARDROOM UPDATE. SO DO WE HAVE AN ESTIMATED TIME ON WHEN IT WILL BE COMPLETED?

>> TRUSTEE JONES, WE'RE STILL EXPECTING THOSE LAST 3 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT TO COME IN IN DECEMBER. WE HAVE NOT HAD A CHANGE FROM THE COMPANY ON THE EXPECTED DATE BUT THERE'S SO MUCH GOING ON WITH THE GLOBAL CHAIN SUPPLY ISSUE IN THE COUNTRY, I CAN'T IN GOOD CONSCIOUS GIVE YOU A SPECIFIC DATE. WE ARE HOPING AND PRAYING THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO HOLD THE FIRST MEETING IN JANUARY WITH A COMPLETED BOARDROOM UPGRADE.

>> OKAY, THANK YOU. >> I'LL GO WITH FEBRUARY. [LAUGHTER]

>> THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU SO MUCH. AT THIS TIME THE BOARD WILL GO

MR. MCCALL FOR THE VOTE. [VOTING] MOTION PASSES. SORRY MS. LYONS.

IF YOU WOULD PLEASE GO OVER QUITE TEARY FOR REDISTRICTING. >> ARE RIGHT MADAM PRESIDENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ENTREPRENEUR AND THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME TONIGHT.

I UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR ADMINISTRATORS HAVE AN EARLY MORNING TRAINING.

THEY'VE ASKED ME TO GO VERY TO THE BUILDING THROUGH THE SLIDES.

PARTS DEFINITELY PAID OFF BACK PARKS WITH THEIR PATIENTS BEING GO OVER.

THIS CENTENNIAL PARK FOR THE PUBLIC AND SINCE WE DON'T HAVE PUBLIC HERE BUT I'M GONNA RECOMMEND IS A SLIDES GET POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE. SO WE WILL HAVE ACCESS.

AS WE DISCUSSED THERE'S 3 ISSUES THAT ARE COVERING THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS.

THE FIRST MOST IMPORTANT FOR OUR PURPOSES TONIGHT IS ONE PERSON, ONE VOTE.

THE DISTRICT'S POPULATION HAS CHANGED SUFFICIENTLY SO WE NO LONGER NEED THAT CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE. THE PRESENTATION ALSO GOES INTO THAT CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATIONS ON USING RACE IN FRONT OF REDISTRICTING. THE BOARD HAS ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION. IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND. DO YOU WANT ME TO HAVE THEM ALL

OR PROCEED QUICKLY? >> THAT'S FINE YOU CAN PROCEED. >>? DO YOU HAVE MORE THAN 10 PERCENT DEVIATION IS THE MAXIMUM THAT IS ALLOWED UNDER ONE PERSON ONE VOTE. UNDER YOUR CURRENT PLAN YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW.

DISTRICT 7 DISTRICT FOR ARE THE LARGEST IN THE SMALL SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICTS.

ABOUT 25 PERCENT DEVIATION. REDISTRICTING IS GOING TO BE REQUIRED.

THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW THE TRADITIONAL PRINCIPLES OF REDISTRICTING WHICH INCLUDE USING CENSUS BLOCKS AND VOTING TABULATION AS THE BUILDING BLOCKS TO BUILD YOUR DISTRICTS. WE'RE GOING TO TAKE NOTE OF RACIAL DEMOGRAPHICS OF YOUR POPULATION BUT WE'RE ONLY GOING TO USE THAT TO THE EXTENT NECESSARY TO AVOID VIOLATING SECTION 2 40 RIGHTS ART WHICH DISCRIMINATION VOTING PRACTICES.

WE ARE GOING TO ADVANCE QUICKLY TO THE PRINCIPLES THAT I'M RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARD ADOPT. THE PRINCIPLES ARE THAT BOAT RACE MAY BE CONSIDERED AND IS AVAILABLE TO YOU IT WILL NOT BE A PREDOMINANT FACTOR IN THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS.

WE'RE GOING TO AVOID BIZARRELY SHAPED DISTRICTS OR UNUSUAL SHAPES TO DISTRICTS AND ARE GOING TO NARROWLY TAILOR ANY CONSIDERATION OF RACE TO BEAT NEARLY TARGETED TO AVOID VIOLATING SECTION 2 OF THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT. SO I PREPARED REDISTRICTING CRITERIA FOR THE BOARD. THAT INCLUDES TRADITIONAL REDISTRICTING PRINCIPLES AND I'M RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARD ADOPT THESE USING IDENTIFIABLE GEOGRAPHIC BOUNDARIES.

MAINTAINING COMMUNITIES OF INTEREST WHERE THEY EXIST WHICH MAY INCLUDE NEIGHBORHOODS.

IT MAY INCLUDE CAMPUS ATTENDANCE ZONES. IT WILL ALSO INCLUDE PRESERVING AND COMPETENCIES WHERE THE INCUMBENT TRUSTEES REPRESENTING THE POPULATION AND THAT EXISTING VOTING DISTRICT. GOING TO USE WHOLE VOTING PRECINCTS WERE POSSIBLE AND IF NOT WHAT YOU CENSUS BLOCKS. WE WILL BASE THE NEW PLAN ON THE EXISTING 7-MEMBER TRUSTEE PLAN FOR BIZARRELY IN PLACE. WERE GOING TO MAKE SURE DISTRICTS ARE APPROXIMATELY EQUAL SIZE AND NO GREATER PERCENT DEVIATION THAN 10 PERCENT.

BETWEEN THE LARGEST AND THE SMALLEST POPULATION. AND RECORDED NARROWLY TAILOR THE PLAN TO COMPLY WITH THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT. RECOMMENDING THIS EVENING THAT

[01:50:02]

THE BOARD ALSO ADOPT A TIMELINE. WE ARE LOOKING AT A POSSIBLE BOARD WORKSHOP TO BE NOTICE FOR THE COMING MONTH. THE BOARD WOULD LIKE TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING. I THINK THAT'S PRUDENT TO BRING COMMUNITY INPUT INTO THE PROCESS. OBVIOUSLY THE BOARD WORKSHOP WOULD BE AN OPEN MEETING AS WELL. AND WE HAVE TO ADOPT A PLAN NO LATER THAN 2 FEBRUARY WHICH IS A FRIDAY. YOU'RE REALLY LOOKING FOR A JANUARY MEETING TO ADOPT THE PLAN. AND SO WHAT I THINK, RECEIVED HER SCHEDULE COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR STAFF AND YOU WON'T TO FIND A GOOD TIME FOR PROBABLY A CALLED MEETING IN NOVEMBER.

POSSIBLY A PUBLIC HEARING FINAL ADOPTION. DELIA DECEMBER IF THE PROCESS

GO SMOOTHLY. >> OKAY. MAKE YOU SO MUCH.

[12. Adoption of Consent Agenda]

>> AT THIS TIME THERE'S NO ACTION BE TAKEN ON THE PART OF THE MOVE WANT TO ADOPT HER CONSENT AGENDA. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL OF THE FOLLOWING MINUTES.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2021, REGULAR BOARD MEETING CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER 2021 FINANCIAL REPORTS. CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE CHILD THROW FUND BUDGET AMENDMENTS. I CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE FISCAL 2022 GRANT FUNDS. BOARD THIS IS AN ACTION ITEM IS ANY DISCUSSION ABOUT THE

CONSENT AGENDA? >> MADAM PRESIDENT IDENTIFY ONE QUESTION ITEM B.

>> WERE DELECTABLE THAT? >> OPAL I DID BEAT WHEN I MOVE WE APPROVE GENDER ITEMS A, C

AND D AS PRESENTED. >> MEMBER MOTION BY MR. JONES TO PULL BE, APPROVE A, C AND D.

IS OUR SECOND? >> ALL SECOND X SECOND BY MS. DAVIS.

AT THIS TIME A CALL FOR THE VOTE.

[VOTING]. MOTION PASSES. THIS TIME A BACK TO ITEM THAT WAS PULLED. BE, CONSIDER APPROVAL SEPTEMBER 2020.

>> ETHICAL TO RECONCILE PAGE HAS LIKE 880 SOME 1000 WE PAID OUT ON ONE OF THE FUNDS WHICH WAS DOUBLED WHAT WE WOULD'VE PAID IN THE PREVIOUS FINANCIAL ORDER.

WAS THAT BECAUSE OF THE AUDIT WAS IN AUGUST AND IT WAS CARRIED OVER.

[INAUDIBLE] >> WILL YOU COME TO THE MIC TO BE RECORDED FOR THE PUBLIC.

>> SURE, IF YOU WANT TO PULL IT UP AND TAKE A LOOK AT IT. AUGUST BOOKS ARE STILL OPEN BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING AUDITED. IN AUGUST WE DO TRY TO GET ALL OF OUR R EXPENDITURES IN.

I'M NOT SURE WHEN YOU SAY DOUBLE FROM THE PART MONTH JUST FROM JULY.

>> JULY WAS 400 SOMETHING THOUSAND. >> WE WOULDN'T START UNTIL AUGUST 15. WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE COME BACK INTO THE OFFICE.

ACTIVITY WOULD PICK UP ONCE SCHOOL RESUMED. SO PAYMENTS OF DIFFERENT THINGS WHAT OCCURRED THERE. I CAN TAKE A LOOK AT ANY SPECIFIC ITEM THAT YOU'RE REFERENCING THE GET BACK TO YOU. TO SEE IF THERE WAS A TREND OR

ANYTHING THAT YOU ARE NOTICING. >> YEAH, THAT WAS JUST ONE OF THE BIGGER NUMBERS IN THE PAY WAS JULY WAS 400 SOME 1000 AND THEN SEPTEMBER WAS 800. EFFECTIVELY MAKE SENSE? THAT'S NOT SIGNIFICANT BUT I CAN GO BACK AND TAKE A LOOK AND SEE IF THERE WAS A LARGE PAYMENT I SEPTEMBER WE PAID THE INSURANCE PREMIUM FOR THE Ã DEAL THAT COMES ON SEPTEMBER AS WELL AS THE FORM OF THOUSAND DOLLAR BUS LEASE PAYMENT. THAT MAY HAVE BEEN WHAT YOU SAW AS WELL. THOSE ARE ANNUAL PAYMENTS THAT OF MID-SEPTEMBER.

THAT COULD PROBABLY ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. I WILL GO BACK AND TAKE A LOOK

AND IF IT'S NOT THOSE I'LL LET YOU KNOW. >> OKAY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THAT MAKES SENSE.> ANY OTHER DISCUSSION FROM THE BOARD? >> OKAY THIS IS AN ACTION ITEM,

IS THERE A MOTION? >> MADAM PRESIDENT REMOVE EXEMPT THE APPROVAL OF THE
